Christ Alone...sorry, maybe I misunderstood. From what I quoted it appeared that you were lumping homosexuality in with what you considered other sins...ie lying, theft, anger...etc.

Maybe it was just how I read it.

is this another gay thread where you get ur balls busted if you give your honest opinion?

There would be no scriptural support for saying Jesus was/is pro-gay.

The point here is he was/is pro-gayS (the person, not the orientation).

What right do I have to differentiate between my particular dysfunction/s and that of a LGBTI person?

And what is the point of arguing what constitutes dysfunction versus what does not, when in Christ it has all legally been paid for in full, with the precise aim of simplifying a very tangled problem, and putting ALL on an equal footing?

(Romans 3:22-24) . . .For there is no distinction. For all have sinned [are dysfunctional in one way or another] and fall short of the glory of God, and it is as a free gift that they are being declared righteous by his undeserved kindness through the release by the ransom [paid] by Christ Jesus.

    Great posts and insights

I dunno, there are many things that are not spelled out directly in the bible and because times were different as OldGDude brings out, it's hard to say.

That being said, there are many examples I gleen from Jesus and his associates. For instance Mary Mag was a prostitute, but once she learned of Jesus and his message, she dropped her old ways and followed him, she didn't continue.

On the other hand Jesus sat and ate with wordly people, he was nice and friendly with them, he usually let loose on the religious learders of his day becasue they were hypocrits and inforceing unbarable laws that no one could live up to.

But the thing that I've always wondered is, how come animals engage in homosexual sex? Is that natural or due to imperfect conditions? If one believes in the Genises story of mankind losing perfection, I would think Jesus reasom would cover this if one couldn't help their sexual orientation from birth.

Does anyone now the real answer.....

    Thats a great video Fernando.

Theres another thread which seems to have morphed into an "evil God of the Old Testament cannot be the loving God of the New Testament", to which I could have given my same following reply.

If Jesus just says "ok everybody, you are all saved", its like, "cheers Jesus" and off we go on our merry way enjoying eternity in Paradise.

If you are strapped into the electric chair on death row and about to be executed for your crimes, and Jesus turns up to swap places, just before they flip the switch, he dies, and you slip out the back door, you are going to be a lot more gratefull than the first senario.

I wonder therefore if, the God of the old testament, the Mosaic Law, all the reasons we are classed as sinners in the New Testament, are all ways to make us aware that we cannot be saved by our own devices, that we are totally relient on Gods Grace, that when we think we deserve death, then Jesus gives us life instaed, we are so overcome with gratitude we learn to be the loving and unselfish people Jesus wants us to be.

Might be a treason why the good and self-righteous are not shown in such a good light as the repentant sinners.

    Hey Nambo!

    I love your description.

It seems we all need time and practical experience to learn what dysfunction is, and to what extent we all suffer from a terminal dysfunctional condition.

Mind blown, great post and insight on your part!

So many people say that homosexuality is incomprehensible to God. Yet, he designed all the birds, animals and insects on earth, and among all of them there are hundreds of species that exhibit homosexuality and same-sex pair bonding. Even plants exhibit bisexuality. There is no evidence they were affected by the sin of man, and even the Witnesses are constantly marveling at their amazing design. In other words, God must have thought of and designed homosexuality as part of his creation. That's why the Bible never addresses homosexuals or homosexuality disparagingly.

All Bible texts that are used by moralists to condemn homosexuality actually are not addressed to gays and lesbians living among the Israelites or the early Christian congregation, but rather to the heterosexuals. When read in this manner, it changes completely our understanding of what is said, and more importantly, why it was said. The context almost always had to do with -- not immorality but -- idolatry. From Genesis through Revelation, pure worship has been the overriding live-or-death issue, not sex or sexual orientation.

    Hey matt2414!

"From Genesis through Revelation, pure worship has been the overriding live-or-death issue, not sex or sexual orientation."

    My thoughts too.

Religionists are guilty of apostasy which is spiritual unfaithfulness/adultery/fornication/prostitution. They try to transfer their guilt onto others by their preoccupation with physical sex.

Fernando, you may be on to something. Many fundamentalists teach that homosexuality is the worst sin, even more damning than murder or idolatry. Others claim that when Adam and Eve ate of the "apple," that was really a metaphor for them having sex, which they claim was a sin. God created sexual desire in humans and animals, a desire just as great as hunger for food. Why would he make it a sin to act on that desire? How evil would that be? I can't help but believe religionists are blaspheming God when they promote this idea, because they are in effect blaming him since he put the idea and desire in us in the first place. Spiritually speaking, they are the biggest whores around.

PS: I sent you a personal message.
