Sorry, ran out of editing time. Typing is very difficult for me.

That's all for awhile, folks. Yer probably all sick of me by now anyways. Time for sunset action.

Plus I hear Rob and Jonathan arguing in the kitchen. I'm surrounded by all alpha males, including myself.

When did you live around here?

Buenos noches, Randy! I lived in the South Bay through High School, in the early 1970's. This was back when the "Jesus Freaks" were working the Strand regularly. I remember that many of them were from Bethel Tabernacle in Redondo Beach, which is why I still grin when hearing about some the work of a visiting "Brother from Bethel". That little Bethel seemed to do more preaching than the big one in Brooklyn, even in those days when Fall 1975 was fast approaching!

There not too many speed traps around here, but there are a couple of drunk driving traps near the bars at night. Not too easy to go fast in such a dense area.

I was thinking of the one they set up for bicycles speeding down the strand, past the HB pier. No point in taking a radar gun to PCH when the beach traffic hits.

There have been a couple of incidents lately where the lifeguards are in a rush on the sand and have actually run people over who are sunbathing! Doesn't usually kill them though. But I'm sure they are in the hospital for awhile.

Ouch! I suspect that these days they drive something much bigger and heavier than those VW dune buggies I remember.

Nothing so good for the soul as being close to paradise. I understand the feeling.

Some of this post might be good for a wikipedia entry. Just a thought.

    jgnat, I love you!

    Please write something for me.

All my bloggers are way too lazy.

with the exception of Lee Marsh, the Jansmas, (although they risk disfellowshipping for not writing more lately)

That's why I wanted Cedars, a breath of FRESH AIR, dammit. Don't bore me to death otherwise.

I'm always recruiting, but a bit picky.

Ok, I will write something for you. I warn you I can be lazy and unreliable too. My interests are broad, and sometimes my focus shifts for a time.

Damn, you Angelenos with your palm trees and beach scenery! In the Bay Area, we banished you all to a place... you might have heard of it... Santa Cruz. I know I'm a San Franciscan when there's nothing more I'd like to smell in the morning than the boiled Dungeness crabs and the clam chowder sourdough bowls on Fishermen's Wharf. Our sunset is seen over the hills from a Napa Valley winery after a few glasses in. That's the life. But you can't blame us. The Pacific is 50 degrees cold and the fog is our notable environmental characteristic. I haven't lived in northern California for over ten years, but I annoy everyone here with my constant references to it. Oh by the way, suck it Dodgers and Angels! I'll take our Giants and A's anyday. Go Niners! Even the Raiders, though it would be helpful if you guys actually had an NFL team to hate.

That's the only problem I have with the Northern Coast at Sea lelvel - fog. Ilived in Pismo beach which gets a lot. From there up to the top of Cali, lots of fog, called the Marine Layer.

Randy you look like someone out of "The Lords Of DogTown!" You were a surf punk in the 1970s, did you ever sneak onto the beaches near San Onfre to surf, were you chased by MPs yelling "Get the Hell out of the water kid!"

@jg Where is that river you posted, are there trout to be fished for?
