And I thought favorable decisions by the city were a combination of holy spirit and the good conduct of Bethelites.

    *** yb91 p. 10 Jehovah’s Witnesses—1991 Yearbook Report ***

This past year the Society was able to complete the purchase of a property known as 85 Jay Street, which contains several buildings of various sizes. It is two blocks from the factory complex and has a ground area of 97,800 square feet [9,100 sq m], larger than that of the present five factory buildings. The property will be held for any future needs.

We understand that several of the former printing press buildings on Sands Street are empty and the lot on 85 Jay Street is used as a parking lot. - http://dumbonyc.com/2011/09/29/watchtower-properties-in-dumbo/

It is a parking lot according to the latest Google street view.

Hiring the lobbyist was money well spent, hey? Are they still going to develop it or what?

The land across the street was also waste until it started to be developed and built on from 2005. These guys got to develop their land. I wonder why the WTS were unsuccessful despite the lobbying. There has to be a backstory to this somewhere.

Fried, Frank was one of two premiere merger and acquisitions large Wall St. law firms. I am shocked the cost was not much more.

It is a Jewish firm, which is interesting. New York firms were segregated by religion until after WWII. They know how to run to the best.

I don't think this is a huge bill for lobbying services. Don't get an education. It is unnecessary. Yet the WT goes to the very top with prep school, Ivy League college and law school grads.
