it looks to me that they prefer the internet over the ones theys are sittin' next too

but then again, some say they still feel lonely in a crowded room, especially if they

    don't have anything in common

I have seen some very hurtful things said on Facebook- stuff that a polite person wouldn't say in person.

I think it takes a lot of things, a lot of work not to be depressed.

One ingredient is to get up, get moving. An excessive amount of time on the puter then 4 to 6 hours

in front of the boob tube could be the road to serious depression.

Everybody has to work out their own slavation, translated in 21st century atheistic terms.

Everyon is resonsible for their own happiness.

In the past when I would feel excessively depressed I would google the solution.

Here is one sight I found helpful.

That is just a stock photo.

We dont know if the people in that picture are depressed.

For all we know they are in the break room of a university doing their college assignments.

    a recent study--

"Do you have tons of Facebook friends and often update your status? If so, you may be a narcissist, a new study suggests.

Research from Western Illinois University showed a link between the number of Facebook friends you have and how active you are on the site to the likelihood of being a "socially disruptive" narcissist.

The study - which was recently published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences - was conducted among 300 participants, who took a Narcissistic Personality Inventory questionnaire.

Those with more Facebook friends, who tagged themselves in photos and updated their status throughout the day were more likely to have narcissistic traits.

"People who have a heightened need to feel good about themselves will often turn to Facebook as a way to do so," study author Chris Carpenter from Western Illinois University told Mashable.

"Facebook gives those with narcissistic tendencies the opportunity to exploit the site to get the feedback they need and become the center of attention."

I find that certain downer-type people tend to lower my mood when they post weird and depressing stuff on facebook. They NEVER post any of the up-type things in their lives, just the o poor me stuff. THAT'S depressing.

I've seen people who would rather talk to people on their phones/FaceBook/MSN than talk to the people they are with.

Then, they complain when no one goes around to see them and they also don't get invited anywhere!
