A JW in an email said I'm a Jezebel and much more. Well, this busy Jezebel needs your input. Thanks.

My input: Don't waste your time on it. Keep publishing for sake of all readers, including the one who sent the email. This email only evidences success of your fine work. Your work is read, and it makes people think. You can't ask for more.

    Like Cheerios said...

Ridiculous comment - I'd add, from someone still suffering under the burden of mind/social mileau control of the cult.

    And a total nutcase.

I'll bet he? she? it? gets MANY studies in service with that sort of "brilliant" reasoning...

(Personally, I always admired Jezebel - that was one woman NOT held back by the male-dominated war-god theology...!! )

If you answer, I would ask him if he thinks that Jehovah wants young children to be sexually abused while waiting for matters to be handled a certain way. Is that Jehovah's way? Or does he want swift justice, as when Ananias and Sapphira were struck down?

Remind him that after the FDS/GB knew that young children has been sexually abused in California, they held the information to themselves, and until it all came out in the open many more children were abused. Is that what Silvio thinks Jehovah's way is? Or is it just bad policy?

Remind him that women saw Jesus at the tomb first.

And I would quote the book of Amos, 5:21

    21 “I hate, I despise your religious festivals;
your assemblies are a stench to me.
22 Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings,
    I will not accept them.
Though you bring choice fellowship offerings,
I will have no regard for them.
23 Away with the noise of your songs!
I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24 But let justice roll on like a river,
    righteousness like a never-failing stream!

Or as The Message Bible has it:

    21-24 "I can't stand your religious meetings.
I'm fed up with your conferences and conventions.
I want nothing to do with your religion projects,
    your pretentious slogans and goals.
I'm sick of your fund-raising schemes,
your public relations and image making.
I've had all I can take of your noisy ego-music.
When was the last time you sang to me?
Do you know what I want? I want justice—oceans of it.
    I want fairness—rivers of it.
    That's what I want. That's all I want.

( I love the book of Amos, especially in modern versions )

    FAMOUS?

    What does that mean?

Celebrity among apostates, perhaps? Strange sort of accusation.

What chain of thought would lead there?

"Hmmm, I want to be a famous person so I'll turn against God and expose those errors the dear brothers made at Society Headquarters...."

    Really?

Child molestation coverup isn't all that bad, I guess....

    What a clear-headed, incisive mind!

Loyalty is more important than integrity in that world.

I have been in that world, seems like loyalty is their integrity

Thanks everyone for your input, including james_woods.

I appreciate all the variety of thoughts and suggestions and have yet to make a decision whether it's worth the time and effort to reply to Silvio or not. I get all types of JW-related emails through my website and I try to reply to them all, but every so often one like Silvio's comes in which I resent spending any time on, yet, at the same time I wonder if maybe I can help the JW to get his/her head on straight.

Anyway, if I do decide to reply, I'll surely incorporate some of your excellent thoughts and that should cut down the time it would take me to construct a balanced reply.

Hey, just a thought, if anybody out there has the time and wants to write a reply to Silvio addressing the issues he has, PM me.

im saying that you had not been able to stay humbly in your place while Jehovah would fix the matter at the proper time .

It is my honest belief that one of the most humbling events in the life of a former Witness is the discovery of what the Watch Tower Society really is.

You and your husband should just be ashemed .

And you undoubtably are ashamed -- for having ever been affiliated with the Watch Tower Society.

I'm okay, James. Just a mite tired of spending so much time on all the JW stuff in my life. I gotta say being a Jezebel isn't easy and there's no glory in it either. Thanks for asking.
