    Protect your child yes.

    Crime of passion yes.

Like I said, I doubt he cared one whit for his own fate and conviction.

Nothing is black and white. He didn't get away with murder, btw... he was arrested, brought to trial, and had a conviction passed upon him. His sentencing merely reflects the grey area: consideration of the crime, mind-set, and motivation. This is the purpose of leeway in sentencing, is it not? A judge can determine factors and then sentence accordingly. Of all the criminals in the world to plea bargain their way out of a conviction, I can't think of many reasons why not to be glad that he falls among them.

    Peace,

Or maybe plea bargained rather than brought to trial. Either way... still did not get away with murder.

Cold blooded murder can be the best kind; fewer mechanical errors.

uun: As I said earlier, wait 'til you have kids, then you'll understand.

I mean he did not get a prison sentence.

I know of a kid in your United States of America who got 20 years for his burglary when the owners were not home.

Another woman got 20 years for planning to murder her husband.

I worry that the sentence might be a green light to vigilanticism (if thats a word)

    Vigilante: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vigilante

What's wrong with being a vigilante? People have been socialized into believing (or at least passively accepting) the notion that someone/something else can do "better" than they can. Is it true or is it a ploy to drain power from those who rightfully have it?

uun: Awwwww....best compliment ever! That's as it should be! :)
