I spoke too soon :(

A bit ago I posted a close family member was finally seeing the WTS for what it isn't. I spoke too soon and many warned me. It turns out circular thinking has sunk it's teeth in deep and will not release.

It's very sad because I know what the end result is going to be. Many years of dictated lies. We've already seen many who have giving up living, family, careers to the end of an empty road. Their congregation is also a cold shallow waste of space (not nice or friendly at all) but they keep hanging on...

I can see that critical thinking has lost all sense... it breaks my heart...

They are all on the treadmill of circular thinking.

It's a deep rut, and they can't see over the edge.

It's like when Columbus was sailing the open seas, many thought the world was flat but, they soon found out it was round when they didn't sail off into the abyss. Same for jdubs, they think the BORG is their only hope. They have to take the plunge into the Internet and free themselves from information control, mind control. If they do then a whole new world will open up to them.

They use that circular reasoning with everything.

Many JWs start to see flaws in the organization but then the conditioning kicks in and they shut their critical thinking down.

...this last round took a toll on me and I'm not even the one bringing the JW stuff up. My emotions have been a mixed vortex of anger, disgust, saddness.

You know what is also a joke? My family calls once in a great while and makes lame excuses to call, so they don't feel like they are disobeying the WTS.....it's so phoney....I don't even want them to call me anymore! I once had such a loving/close relationship with them and now it's sick.....

I came accross this yesterday....if only JW's really knew who their founder Charles Taze Russell really was....like God would really use someone like this criminal to rep his name........I'm sure even if they knew they'd make yet another excuse not to believe it......

^^^Funny enough an ex friend of mine said Charles Taze Russell wasn't a freemason because if he was he would have said so!!

We can NEVER be too sure about those we think are close to seeing the real truth.

Tempting to let our guard down and get hopes up, i remind myself of this frequently, which i why i am still here even though my kids are more out than in...

JWs are the vaccum cleaner religion.... can suck those on the fringes right back into the dust bag.

Changing your entire life's course is a big task, give them time, every aspect of your life is affected.

*faithandreason needs to clean up a few facts on Russell.

i can relate...i was TOTALLY outed when a close exjw friend of my dfd son and i...(a young gay woman in his band and living with a long term partner!) printed out one of my very best posts here ever and gave to the elders when she then rejoined and is now back in 100%...pinch me...i still cant believe she did that...I mean i was already a well known critic/apostate here in NC...they just did not have the goods on me lol!!!!.....oompa

btw it was the...."40 things that go beyond what is written in the bible"...and ya i wrote it kinda funny and sarcastic...imagine that....which the elders for some reason were able to keep a very straight face when some of them were read aloud......but i couldn't!!!!!
