    Seven,

I am so impressed that you knew Gene Vincent and Be Bop a Lulla. I had the record and on the other side was a song called Women Love, and it goes like this here.... Well, I went to the doctor not so long ago, walkin circles and a monnen low, he looked at me and said good Lord above, you need a vacination of that womem love.
Pretty dumb words and it never made it to the to one thousand.

By the way, I thought you would know the double blast from Elvis. We had a joke about Elvis. I don't know if it got passed down or not. Please tell if it did or not. In my time, he was called Elvis the pelvis, and he had a twin brother called Enis the .....?

larc, I am fascinated with the performers from that era. These guys played at small venues, traveled by and slept on buses, and could really play. There were no $100 tickets from ticketmaster and $25
programs. Just a whole lotta shakin' goin' on and some of the best music ever. I love Elvis but didn't know the answer without lookin' it up and that would be cheatin'.

    Seven,

That was a wonderful time for me. I used to turn on the AM radio and listen to a guy from Cleveland Ohio called moondog play that original black rock and roll before it was in vogue.

Now I am going to answer the rest of the questions.

#3. The day the music died was about Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Richy Valance, when they died in a plane crash in the winter trying to leave Clear Lake Iowa.

#4. Elvis's back up was called The Jordonaires, a Christian group from his home town.

#5. Why the Crickets. This is in the movie The Buddy Holly Story, when they were practicing in a garage, there was a cricket that kept chirping while they were playing. So they took the name.

#6. The term rock and roll: came from a man named Allan Freed. He worked on radio in my home town, then moved to Cleveland and got on TV, and then moved to New York and promoted Rock and Roll. They made a movie about his life called "American Hotwax." The rock and roll hall of fame is in Cleveland because of him and his son in law,
Dick Libratiur who kept his name alive.

#9 The double hit was Hound Dog and Don't Be Cruel.

Well, I enjoyed that. I think you did too.

    OK Seven,

Which two people sang this and who wrote it?

All along the Watchtower princes kept the view, while all the women came and went, they're foot servants too. Outside in the cold distance a wild cat did growl, two riders where approaching, the wind began to howl.

Well, I've been up for quite awhile, and my head is to fuzzy for more quizes, so I'll see ya later.

    Larc,
Noooooo! I just came in to answer 5 and 6. I just had to rattle the questions around in the 'ol noggin for a while.
I knew Hendricks played with the Isely Brothers, but the Little Richard connection is new to me. I think the chirping cricket story was related in the excellent movie about Buddy Holly (starring Gary Busey?). And everyone knows the answer to the last question, but you asked seven so I'm mum.

larc, Dylan wrote/sang it. Also Hendrix, U2, the Dead, Neil Young, and
Dave Matthews Band. I thinks there are many covers of this song.

larc and Amicus, Great contributions to the music forum by you two and all here.

Thanks to peaceloveharmonyfor starting this thread.

    Seven,
Now I'm glad I let you answer. You provided much more depth than I could have. Dave Matthews recorded AATW? I've only been listening to him for about a year, so I have a long way to go.
