As I said to one poster on another thread ...
Would you put your phone number up on a message board at the local supermarket?
Would you share personal photos with a stranger you met at the bus stop?Just because we have one thing in common, ie, that we are exJWs, does not mean that we can trust every random person that chooses to wear that label.
Exercise caution on the internet as you do in real life, and you will have no regrets.

Broken Promises
I've said it before, and I'll say it again:
Don't automatically trust someone just because they claim to be an exJW.
Anyone can pretend to be somebody else on the internet. I don't add people to my facebook just because they say they are exJWs or are even "friends" with other exJWs I know. I wouldn't let just anyone into my house so why should I be completely open with complete strangers just because they claim to be an exJW.

Just for the record, did you check with this person and see if he actually sent the message? My facebook account has been hacked at least once, my wife's twice and a couple of friends more than that. One night a couple of months ago I got a very strange message from a parent at my granddaughter's school. A few minutes later there was a second message, ignore the first message his facebook account had been hacked and the message sent to all of his friends, and email contacts.
I don't do very much on FB as a result of this nonsense.

I've had a recent exchange with a newbie who had problems understanding very basic internet privacy issues.
