My GE Water Kettle just died after few years. RIP. They do not sell GE Water Kettle anymore. I looked the reviews of many kettles, it is so hard to decide which one I want to buy since I see positive and negative reviews, it might be planted to scare customers away. If you have Electric Water Kettle, tell me how you like it. Thanks!

It's called planned obsolescence. Good luck on your search for a new kettle.

Don't have one. I have owned others though. Suggestion: buy your new kettle from a store you can walk into and make a return if you aren't happy.

Here is an idea: Just buy a stainless steel water kettle, (not an electric one), and put it on your kitchen stove.

Some have a whistle when they boil, and all of them will last as long as your stove - which usually lasts as long as your house.

That's what I have. Works just fine.

James Woods, I like the auto shut off feature that is why I am interested to buy the electric one.

Electric kettles are all pretty simple appliances and are considered 'disposable', that is, not worth repairing. If you get a couple of years service out of a toaster or e. kettle, you can probable pick up another one for $20.00 or so. why not just find a well made stove top kettle?

I am the wrong person to ask about GE home appliances. I have had very dissapointing reliability from them. Two weeks ago our 5 yr old GE side by side ref/frz with door water/ice, etc. went out for the second time in 6 months. The repairman said it is not worth fixing. We bought a new Whirlpool that we love. A refrigerator that doesn't last ten years is junk.

    Hope this is helpful,

Your brother in the grace of the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ,

    G.

or as Flipper would say, "peace out!"

I just had the cynical thought that this feature may well be what broke.
