im not exactly sure when this change came in, but when i was a kid i remember it either being

"____ has been Disfellowshipped or Dissasociated"

if someone has been announced to the congregation as no longer a JW then they are the same as any other non-JW. to be treated as a "man of the nations", or a "tax collector". " no longer called a Brother".

it may be that you know what has happened and would decide that the person is a nasty peice of work and not have anything to do with them...... but as time goes on you may mellow as you see them no longer being a nasty peice of work and now have settled into a nice person with a new family. you remeber jesus

    * you remember jesus words about forgiveness and see that although they caused alot of devastation and upset that it isnt good to keep ignoring someone who used to be good friends. so you see if the person and you cam make peace again. you find that they feel bad for what they did but have moved on now and cant take it back.

you rekindle your friendship and accept that they will probably never go back to a kh.

but that could never happen because that announcement doesnt mean what it says.

no. they are disfellowshipped and must be shunned and treated as dead. not 2yrs 5yrs or 10yrs can you ever be friends. why?

because you will get what they got. the big boot

They should be sued for Libel, the statement should read "........... is no longer a member of the group who style themselves Jehovah's Witnesses"

How can the Congregation say you are no longer a JW? you could still witmess about Jah, they cannot stop you .

oh how i love Gods Organisation on Earth! how they reflect Gods glory. how they imitate Jesus Christ in showing Love to one another. (vomit)

"let him without sin cast the first stone"

"no one condemned you woman? - then neither do I condemn you. go, practice sin no more"

did this woman never sin again? she was caught in the act and Jesus would not condemn her except the words Practice sin no more.

I agree with Phizzy...the WTS always says that the name is simple a title for what we do. Therefore someone can still DA or get DF-ed and still witness to others about Jehovah. They SHOULD say "______ is no longer a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses."

as far as i know. even a disfellowshipped person cannot be stopped going door 2 door as they are still dedicated. i may have heard wrong but that was the impression i got from one of our elders

This raises some interesting questions, who are you DF'd from ? true answer the whole 7mill worldwide, but on the authority of 3 men locally.

The WT will wash its hands of you if you are an active JW involved in a car accident whilst out in service, so they claim no connection to you, if it comes down to a law suit regarding your JC they will tell the Elders they are on their own, so how can you be DF'd from the whole "brotherhood" ?

The statement should say ".... is DF'd from the Judgealot Congregation, Bastard Town, U.K" and then we would be free of that Congo. but could go elswhere as a JW, not what the WT wants, but legally they wish to have it both ways, you are nothing to do with them if it is going to cost them, but everything you do is under their control.

No longer "Jehovah's Witnesses" but still a Christian as the bible says Jesus' followers were called Christians by "divine providence" at Acts 11:42. Another way the WTS elevates itself over the bible.

"The NWT [ New World Translation ] of the Jehovah's Witnesses ("the worst of all translations," Guy Woods) in Acts 11:26 is superior to the KJV and the ASV: "the disciples were by divine providence called Christians," showing that the NWT translators recognized the special meaning of chrematizo. However, when the Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door, and are asked to follow their own translation in Acts 11:26, to call themselves "Christians," they refuse and go away."

i find it interesting obsessive control kick they have so no one in org can talk to you and you cant speak with anyone in org oh and will keep tabs on you to try and get you to jump thru hoops and turn tricks for to get back in later if your interested man nobody should have that type of power if i were df d i would still talk to ppl in org! if you cant tell im d'fd i must be manifesting true chrstian qualities by fruits jc said you will be identified! not three incompetent men in a back room with an ego trip if everyone utilized there power of free will and civil rights and df'd still talked to family and friends you usurp this supposed power they feel they have they only have the authority you give them!
