Given we are not going to live forever, none of us knows when our time is up, and meaning isn't handed to us on a plate? How do we go about inscribing our lives with meaning within unknown constraints of time and resources?
Have you got a strategy? Do you plan to "plant a tree, have a child, write a book" according to one old formula? Just enjoy yourself, help those around you, or change something in the world for the better?

and I'm thankful everyday for the personal accomplishments I continue to achieve as time goes on
The only real plan I have is to enjoy life to the full
Help extricate the children in my family from this disaster of a religion and get them in college. I want to end this at generation three.
Retire from my present shitty job I took because the end was sooooo close, just temporary, and do work that I love.
My goal is to have as much fun and as little pain as possible.
It's a pretty simple concept really, not sure why everyone seems to mess it up.
SLIMBOY- Excellent thread and question ! Basically what I want to accomplish with my remaining life is to help set peoples minds free of the enslavement they had as JW's. Any kind of comment , example I can set or help them to see about freedom and living life in the here and now is what I'm about and how I roll.
Also on a personal note I look forward to a long , happy life with my wife, growing closer to my son and his girlfriend enjoying our relationship, and generally showing love to my friends here I've made on the board and elsewhere. I also look forward to learning more on the guitar ( played since Nov. 2011 ) and look forward to writing more songs about freedom, life, happiness, and other issues which people deal with each day. If I can reach people through my music and make them think, I will have accomplished something of value I believe.
Also I keep hoping that someday my 2 adult JW daughters will be freed from enslavement to the mind control of the WT society . I will keep a candle burning in hopes that they will be and think free someday. The same goes for my 5 nieces and nephews as well of which 3 of the 5 are already out of the JW cult. I will be here for any others that exit- including my daughters. My son & his girlfriend and my wife willbe here for them as well. So in a nutshell, those are kind of my priorities ! I have thought about this a lot...I do want to get married and have children, I just don't want to raise kids that are enslaved to WT...Now just have to somehow work my way out of this cult..
I want to raise my children to be good men, like their father.
I want to get my Nursing degree and help people.
I want to be the best friend I can be.
I want my wife to think I'm the best husband in the world.
And most importantly I want, many years from now, for my son as he recounts his memories of me to say with a smile "My Dad was the best damned dad in the world."
If I do those things then the rest is a cakewalk.
I want to be loved by my family for who I am, no matter what. Think I could die happy.
