I was summoned for jury duty in March of this year.
If I'd been called to serve on a case involving WT, I would not have mentioned my prior association with the JW's.
I wonder if any serving on the jury in the Candace Conti case did something similar.

As much as I respect your desire for Justice, you'd be purgering yourself and would actually undermine the whole trial.
The WT lies by concealing facts, so perjuring myself wouldn't have been a problem for me.
Oh how I wish I could've been too, but I would've declined for the simple fact that I wouldn't want there to be any way the WTBT$ could weasel out or get off on a technicality.
Right now Candace has got them by the balls, and I’d rather have it this way instead of being on that jury.

As well he should, if he's doing his job.
As others have pointed out, if you claimed to have no JW background, and later it was discovered that you did, you personally would be in big trouble and you'd be replaced by an alternate juror.
If you made it all the way through the trial before your connection was discovered, the WTS would definitely win the appeal.
I can sympathize with your sentiment but it just wouldn't work.

Personally, I find the outcome more gratifying this way. We're not talking about embittered former members with an axe to grind. Their actions were found to be despicable by a jury of completely objective people.
It is alright to purger yourself the night before a colonoscopy.
