    See a doctor ASAP!

You could also have a parasite.

In the meantime, can you purchase some BOOST, ENSURE, or other meal replacement, so that you are receiving some nutrients?

Don't give the PITB doctors a second thought. That's how they "evolve" during their training. You shouldn't let that keep you from looking after yourself. They get paid good money to help you, don't let them intimidate you.

Now, for "Pharaoh's Revenge", try the BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) for a couple of days to give your system a chance to rest. Make sure you're getting enough fluid. If you're concerned about water quality, you should boil your drinking/cooking water for 5-10 minutes, then store it in sterilized containers. If you're making ice cubes for your drinks, make sure you use the sterilized water.

You should also be looking at electrolyte replacement if you're having persistent vomiting and/or diarrhea.

You need to see a doctor.

BTW, the protagonist in "Thinner" lost weight because he was cursed by a Gypsy. Have you pissed off any Gypsies lately?

Hmmm, there was a show called Touched by an Angel... I think this could be a spin off.

Weight loss is a bit of a red flag in medicine, so go and see a doc ;) x

If he gives you the all clear = bonus, you are skinny and healthy !

Thyroid issues (hyperthyroidism) can increase metabolism and weight can drop off, have you noticed any other symptoms or signs?

There are inflammatory conditions that see rapid weight loss, an immune mediator called IL 6 is thought to be responsible for rapid weight loss in some cancers (lung cancer specifically) but it is also a mediator in rheumatoid arthritis so there may be a link if you have high IL 6 levels.

I don't want to be alarmist, but cancer is up on the list for weight loss too, so it's best to go and check it out, though I am sure this is unlikely.

I don't want to ask you to spell out bowel symptoms here,, but if you have any, or from now on check the toilet after you go for anything odd.. (Colour/Consistency)... This will help the doc. So check for blood and if there is some, how much. Report excess gas, increased urgency to go, less control etc. Sometimes a new diet can shift the dominance of specific flora (bacteria) of your gut. This is one theory with colitis and with such inflammatory diseases people lose weight due to poor absorption. So yeah, there is a lot of things worth ruling out or catching early x

Whatever it is, if you are putting in the calories and losing weight whilst feeling unwell, go see the doc x

P.s. I'm only a trainee doctor, I'm as useful as a google search, but if I can help just ask x

In case you haven't heard it enough: See a doctor. If that doesn't work, see another doctor.

In the meantime, perhaps I can send you some of my extra fat cells. Mine are stubborn bastards.

Pay attention to your general health, not just your weight. This is actually quite rare--the normal result from dieting is that you lose the weight and gain it all back within a few years, often in months. I would suspect your digestive system or your liver is at fault and would do massive research on those issues. Chances are also good that you are deficient in the B vitamins, which can in fact cause runaway weight loss.

And the doctor. Yes, chances are you will be given medication. However, if there is a liver or digestive tract system problem, a combined therapy with nutritional support is better than just plain allopathic medication or having a major problem and not knowing it. In the meantime, I would start goosing up on your antioxidants--don't wait to get a cancer diagnosis. Start taking alpha lipoic acid, vitamin C, natural vitamin E, vitamin D in natural form, beta carotene (supplements and in food), and whatever you can to repair your liver. Dandelion tea and spirulini are your best bets. These are quite safe, and if you do not have cancer, you are still going to improve your health. And, if you do, there is always that chance it will already be on its way down before they can touch it. (And your outcome will be improved either way if you start nutritional support now.)

Now, if you also have symptoms like the jitters, you are going to need magnesium right now. Of course, see the doctor--you may have hyperthyroidism. But, getting support from nutrition even before seeing the doctor will give you a big head start. By the time you see your doctor or they can figure out what's wrong, it may already be starting to clear up (and even if not, it will likely be easier to treat). The B vitamins are always a big help in cases of nerves or jitters that accompany runaway weight loss--you probably cut back on them while losing the weight in the first place.

Not to mention, doing proper meditation. No, not washtowel meditation. If you try to do void meditation (trying to think of nothing for a period of time), you may be able to assist in getting this condition in better control. This means sitting in a quiet area and trying to focus on nothing. Yes, it's hard at first. But, you may get the hang of it--yes, it's safe. At worst, nothing will happen. At best, you may be able to help stabilize the condition some. As I mentioned, it goes along with the nutritional support and the doctor.

I might also add that this kind of runaway weight loss can happen when you develop full-blown diabetes. The good news is that alpha lipoic acid can make managing diabetes easier, so start taking that now while waiting for your test results. A history of being fat is a risk factor, and even after losing substantial weight that doesn't get you into the ideal range can still elevate your risk. This is one more thing you should test for--vitamin B 6 and magnesium also make it easier to manage, so take that while waiting.
