We are having salad for Sunday dinner....my husband has finally agreed that he needs to slim down a tad..I had to freeze the filets I bought...What time shall I be by?

I live in the south and once a month on the last Sundy of the month my JW mom invites a lot of people over for a major Sunday dinner. There are witnesses and family members. There is so much food. WE are talking about fried chicken, chitterlings,pigs feet,ribs brown rice, candy yams and much much more. And since th witnesses are there you know there is plenty to DRINK. One brother even makes his special drink that he is known for. My dad has a movie on the big screen and there is very little talk about Jehovah. Just everyone having a great time.

I miss the big family dinners I had in France.
Everyone was in a good mood on these occasions, the food was scrumptious, the wine divine.... the conversation was all over the place...
Nothing like that here, my husband's family is nice but so uptight in many ways, and so much smaller.... Sigh !

You must be, ah... African American? I think it was the chit'lins and pigs feet that gave it away. I've been paying attention these 44 years and I've NEVER known of any white folk who'd eat such things! Not a single one.
Some blacks won't, either. Me included.
