Some more ‘color and detail’ that the WT writer added that I thought was a bit comical is found in par 15. In this paragraph Satan’s schemes of causing us to have a less than heartfelt zeal for God is likened to the diming of a light bulb from 100-watt to around 90-watt. If someone unbeknownst to me kept changing my reading room lighting to a lesser wattage day after day, I immediately would figure out that someone was playing a trick on me and not take it too seriously. Furthermore, it’s’ not like we can blame Satan for every small instance in our lives that may cause us to slow down in our service to God even in the slightest way.

Come on! Sometimes I wonder if the JWs didn’t invent the expression ….’The Devil made it!’

    12. What parallel could we draw between the laborer in Jesus’ GB's illustration m*st*r*ation and some Christians today?

Indeed when you spim you can add a lot to the Bible!

Alas never before did I come along such a twisted explanation of Jesus' illustration!

Even an idiot can understand that Jesus was referring to the fact the plowman cannot get distracted even for a second or he won't be plowing on a straight line.

    Thanks, Blondie.

My take on this WT is that the GB has failed to motivate it's members to produce hours. It seems that they are so desparate in using this Bible Illustration as a guilt trip. It was so blown out of proportion to carry that thought.

    Meant to say:

Come on! Sometimes I wonder if the JWs didn’t invent the expression ….’The Devil made me do it!’

more fear induced devotion to God via DA DEBO.

I'm surprized the "Jehovah Is Watching" threat was left of of this one, it was actually brought out in a couple recent past WT. These writers are sub level thinkers with their spritual biology lession that would bore even a contemporary 6th grader.

    Blondie,

I appreciate your comments as I cannot tolerate reading the articles personally. I was 9 years old when that article came out in the 1970’s. I do remember the wt study and thought, “this is totally misinterpreted; the heart doesn't have a brain”. There were also stories about people that had heart transplants and blood transfusions that had different personalities after the surgery.

I appreciate how you have nailed their additions to the bible and using bible verse snippets (BVS) to hold up their arguments. Thanks again.
