I preferred to say God, especially if I was talking to someone who wasn't a Witness.

I remember people saying you should call out the name Jehovah if you were attacked by demons. I fet like that would make me seem like a wimp. I was more concerned about the demons laughing at me for yelling Jehovah than I was of them actually attacking me.

zoiks: always hated the exaggerated and drawn out way that it was pronounced during the D.C. bible dramas. "ju-HOOO-vuh".

Wasn't it the same mofo playing the prominent voice-over roles in every drama? Who was that? Sydlik? Was he also the one who did the wretched pseudo-opera shit they put out on one CD?

Yeah don't go there with the whole "accurate rendering" of the name SBC, they are so trained by the WTS to defend Jay Hoover's name.

Same thing happend to me when I tried that with a relative one time - Dude about blew a gasket.

It seems rude to me now to use the name Jehovah. I would never dream of calling my parents by their first name, or if I ever had the chance to meet one of the presidents of the US say, I would never say Gorge or Barack it would always be Mr. President.

Well if I would do that out of respect for my parents or some world leader would or should I not do that also for God and not call him by his frist name.

The JW's reasoning is faulty when they say Jehovah will not know who we are praying to unless we use his name, their thinking is stupid. I have a friend who has twin boys. I was with her once for a kids party's and there were about 25 kids there my friend had her back to one of her sons and he said mom, not Lori but mom and she said without looking yes, Johnny what do you want. I thought if a human can know the voice of her child cannot God.

Now when I here someone saying Jehovah I just think how rude.

Each time I say it I get a little twinge of irritation and disgust.

Each time I speak the name, I must spend 2112 milliseconds in reverence to the Watchmaker (blessed be he who makes things tick)...

Yep. I liked it as a dubbie. Being a born in it was a comfort really... Sky daddy watching over you and all... Now i flatly refuse. I wont even type it here on jwn. I refer to him only as the desert god and i even in reading i substitute "odin" for the desert gods name.

oh I though i posted already. Must have just read it. Ummmm when I was a JW I had a hard time with saying it. I cringed a bit inside. Now it doesn't bother me. Oh just yesterday I was talking to a work friend and she was calling JW's "Jehovah's" and it didn't bother me. It used to bother me a lot!!

"He gets sad when you masturbate.

He gets sad when you celebrate your birthday.

He gets sad when you sleep in instead of going door to door selling magazines."

He gets REALLY sad when you celebrate your own birthday by laying in bed on a Saturday morning and masturbating.
