    Key excerpt:

It also follows on the heels of last week's astounding $28 million jury verdict in favor of an Oakland, Calif., woman who was sexually molested as a child by a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, whose national policy was to keep sex-abuse allegations secret.

SNAP has done a lot of hard successful work since 2002 and earlier regarding the Catholic Church and other organizations. A case of standing on the shoulders of giants.

Good. It is about time the Jehovah's Witness religion be lumped with all other religions as they certainly are no better and no different, no matter what they say about themselves.

Just a bunch of white-washed graves is what I consider them all to be!

But we are inching toward a future in which institutional leaders may finally fear prison time for keeping quiet more than they'll fear the loss of their employer's prestige if they squeal.

This is a very important point. When elders realise they could end up doing time for failing to do the right thing there will be far fewer elders willing to follow incompetent leaders.

    Here's an update:

"PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Monsignor William Lynn was found guilty on Friday of one count of endangering the welfare of a child, making him the highest-ranking U.S. Roman Catholic official convicted in the church child sex abuse scandal.

The jury acquitted Lynn, who oversaw hundreds of priests in the Philadelphia Archdiocese, on two other counts.

The jury deliberated 13 days before reaching a decision in the trial of Lynn, 61, who for 12 years served as secretary of the clergy. Lynn faces up to seven years in prison on the child endangerment conviction."
