The WT doesn't believe in infant baptism, but does an 11 year old really understand what they're getting into isn't just a pool with a lot of people looking on?

That's too young...too young. That kid doesn't know what he's getting himself into and by the time he figures it out, if he does, maybe he won't be too messed up.

If, by "understand what [he] is getting into" you mean a commitment to do "right" or "good", the answer is yes; an 11-year old can certainly understand that much.

If you mean understand the convolutions of the WTBTS, even an adult can't understand that!

ugh,,I was an 11 yr old too. The burdens, guilt, over control is unbelievable; just weighs heavy on any simplicity of natural youth for them constantly. The organization makes the kids almost skip their youth and be as a 30 yr old. You can't skip phases in life or there are repercussions later.

So, if his young boy have a single mother will he the spiritual head of the family from now on?

If his mother need to do some bible study with him, she must cover her head?

    That's so effing weird!

See, you have to understand that it's okay for WT to baptize children because they have the TRUTH. It's wrong for other religions to baptize infants and confirm teenagers because they aren't Watchtower.

That boy is too young to make a lifelong committment to anything - full stop. Nobody in their right mind really thinks an 11 year old even understands what it really means to get baptized as a JW.

Hell, most if not all adult recruits have no idea what they're getting into. Born-ins probably don't get the whole thing until mid to late teens. 11 year old doesn't understand what shunning is, doesn't understand what wts teaches, all he knows is what he's told by an adult to be the truth and gets baptized because is told that's the right thing to do and a symbol of dedication to imaginary god.
