There is only one risk of higher education: Debt. If you have to borrow money to get through college and then cannot pay off the money on time, you risk becoming a slave. You are enslaved to the bank that lent you the money.

Aside that, there is zero risk. Your options are to go if you can do it without taking on excessive debt in the process, take the debt and risk not being able to pay it off, or put off college until the tuition bubble crashes and professors are busted for their textbook scams that seem to be widespread (mandating current editions with date codes instead of allowing used books seems to be hot these days). You could also become an apprentice on a trade you like, while investing the money you otherwise would have spent on tuition and supplies on silver, wait for the dollar to become toilet paper, and then attend college once the price implodes.

But not going just because a few men at the top make that decision for you? If you make the decision yourself because of debt, that's fine. But to have the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger making these decisions is not acceptable. You will end up in just as much debt--to them, because of endless donations and wasted field circus supplies and gas. And nothing to show for it.

If you can afford to pious-sneer, chances are good you can afford to attend college. The costs, including reduced earnings, are about the same.

This is an important point - equally important is the obvious good advice to get a degree in a field which makes you actually employable. Not some liberal arts B.S. like political science or propaganda film direction...

Actually, it is now the government that lent you the money - but that is a side point.
