finally awake
started studying in may 1999, left in November 2011, so 12 years of what should have been the best years of my life wasted. Now I feel like kicking myself.

I started studying in 1974, got baptized in 1976, was disfellowshipped in 2005, but didn't make up my mind to leave forever until 2010. That makes a total of 36 years in the WTS vineyard. There were some good times for me. I pioneered for two years that I actually enjoyed. I met some wonderful people including the best friend I ever had and I had some marvelous experiences. Looking back on all of it though, the bad clearly outweighed the good. When I finally left I never gave the cult a backward glance.

I wasted, in one form or another, the better part of 18 years in the cancer. About half of that time, I was pretty regular in wasting time attending boasting sessions and field circus. Later, I still abided by the doctrines even though I was not regularly attending boasting sessions and I nicked my field circus to one hour per month. And that doesn't include time to catch up, or the probability of having forever lost opportunities I will never get back.

Born in.
Now in my late 60's and still stuck in due to wife and family. I dicovered TTATT nearly 4 years ago.
Hope to get free before I die but basically a lifetime wasted.
Yes I am bitter.

Wow, St. George, I feel for you.
I was born-in, baptized at age 20, stopped going to meetings at age 37, so I lived in the JW world for 37 years. Haven't been in a KH since 1999 except twice for funerals; both times were a waste because I could barely stomach the talk info-mercial.

My wife & I were in for 33 years,we came in together we left together, neither of us were born in .I was contacted at 19 years of age, converted my then girlfreind and then was married in a KH 18 months later. We left in 1993 and only went back to a KH for a funeral a couple of years later ,and never been back since. We both have mixed feelings about our experience in the "struth"
We have good memories and experiences all to do with our socialising with "freinds" we made back then , we moved around a lot and had all sorts of dealings with a variety of people , some a little crazy. I do beleive WE became better people because of this.Needless to say these "freinds" don`t seem to want to know us now ,but that`s their loss not ours .

Maybe I should clarify ,the elders and ms,and their wives we associated with were more liberal than most we had contact with, we went camping a lot ,we drank a lot ,though not to obvious intoxication , and we had get togethers at each others place , and as a group, often times we would go out to resturaunts , this especially after assemblys or conventions.
