Do You Think That You Should Be Punished For Letting Drivers Know There Is A Speed Trap Along Their Route?

I thougt BC was a steady ninety (km/h). As a fool Albertan, I tried to go prairie speed and found out those posted limits are for a reason.

I live in a country where people constantly flash their lights to warn other drivers of speed traps. This is crucial because the speed laws in my country are ludicrous - as low as 15 kmph on some bends. You can't drive that slow on the open road if you try.

I don't understand why it should be illegal to warn others when the whole idea of speed traps (apart from catching speeding motorists) is to act as a deterrent. Someone has already mention cardboard cut-out traffic cops - we have these too. Heck, even most sat navs nowadays warn you of the location of speed cameras. Should the makers of these sat navs be fined or sent to jail too?

    Crazy stuff.

I would put it the same category as people who are fined when feeding parking meters for strangers. The local branch of the government octopus is not interested in your chump change, they want some folding money.

If it was about safety, then warning other motorists to watch their speed because of enforcement presence would be a good thing, right?

I searched all of the Houston TV station websites and NONE of them had this posted. VERY Disappointing.

This is a clear violation of FREE SPEECH. Further, it seems obvious to me that the cops fabricated the story of the woman being in the roadway. I hope she fights this in court. I would like to see the ACLU come to her defense. I would REALLY like to see some greedy bastard of a lawyer file her case for violation of her civil rights. Put me on the jury and Houston would be passing a bond issue to pay the punitive damages. There was clearly malice in arresting her. Just gonna teach this smart ass woman a lesson.

Fact is, law enforcement FAILED miserably here.

But in my opinion, cops come from the most disfunctional people in society. Who sanely would choose to be one unless it was to inflate their ego?

I have a good friend who is a police sargent in a large urban city. Good guy. But I agree that it requires a special mindset to be in law enforcement. Thank goodness we have quality people who want to do it. I also appreciate the garbage man and the morticians who serve the community.

Speed traps should be illegal. They are just a hidden government tax.

The woman should be rewarded not arrested.

Cops know exactly where the speed-limit drops and they know out-of-towners are unfamilar with the area and are likely to miss that. They are like wolves lying in wait for their victim. They do not care if a person is struggling financially. They do not care what is going on in their life. They do not care how good a person is. They don't listen to reason. They are bullies made from the same stuff as JW elders.
