Oh I get it now, it's just I have heard quite a few people get excited saying that this particle disproves God... I was intrigued :)
So then you brain boxes, explain in ''blonde girl'' terms what this particle does...
Thank you very muchly :D
Peace

Would it be approximate to say that matter is a byproduct of "nothing" with substance?
Thanks for linking those videos frankiespeakin....I thoroughly enjoyed them....
I'm going to watch yours now Qcmbr.....
Waterspout, in simple terms, man has had a desire to prove or disprove the existance of God. To prove whether or not our universe came about by "chance" or by "design". Scientists are perplexed by the idea that all things must have had a beginning somehow, but that "how" is the question. Ultimately, it is a question of atheism (evolution) vs. creationism because everyone has a belief system. Either they believe in God or they don't.
So the question for millenia has been this; Just how did material objects come to be? Those who believe in a God, will tell you that when God decided to "create" he used his awesome power and converted that power to matter or material (the earth, trees, you and I, etc..)
Simply, it is E=mc2 (that energy is transformed into a mass) but proving "how" that works has eluded mankind since the beginning of time. The "God Particle" is an experiment which seeks replicate the process that God used to create, nameley, to convert energy into a mass on a miniscule scale...the atomic scale.
It is believed that scientists have now replicated that process. If so, this could prove that God does in fact exist and used his amazing power to create the universe. What is fascinating to me is, the fact that mankind has worked so hard for so long and spent so much money to prove this.
Yet the bible has been telling the story for millenia.
It's interesting to see your take on that Sam....Watching those videos (thanks Q that one was awesome), it never crossed my mind that it was proving or disproving a god....I guess you have to think that way to begin with...
Still Thinking; Here is a very interesting article on E=mc2
Thanks Sam....I shall have a look
I suspect with this new discovery they will revisit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_field_theory & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superstring_theory
