Blank stare at the blank space in Jam's post....
The depth only understood by those in expectation .....

Sorry folks.
First of all Iam not talking about you that are still in
because of family. This type is unique.
This type is baptized.
This type have managed to contiue his association with
his wordly friends on the pretense that some day they
will come in.
This type still party with his wordly friends, not realizing
they view him as the biggest hypocrite around.
This type will defend the borg until his last breath.
He will party with his W friends and and his mine this
is A great opportunity to witness,' pour me another shot,
let me tell you about the world ending soon"
He will quote scriptures on the duty of the wife, but
can never find the ones that apply too him.
He knows the basic but in his mind he is A bible scholar.
This type have been DF two or three times, but managed
to come back. He hangs around just enough so he will
make it in paradise.
From years of experience he have learn to function with
the world and at the same time have managed to stay in
good standing with the borg.
A very unique JW.

So you been hanging out with my ex-stepdad I see!
But seriously,
This is his faith....
It is more about routine/familiarity than application of accurate knowledge.
He memorizes factoids, presentations, scriptures and whatnot so he can sound 'spiritual'
He is a self-absorbed person.
But being a JWbro he is 5x more valuable than Single-Mom Sister.
This type of person exists in every walk of life....

Maybe he is not so unique. We will see what others have
to say. I knew maybe two or three brothers in my time
in the borg.

You lucked out....
I have know a lot of Bro and Sisters like this....
When this type is a born/raised I call them 'doodlers' because they doodled their way through the meetings/assemblies and never discerned a darn thing beyond the basics for their potential survival.
Self-absorbed ones like you describe above happily without a bit of moral contention do whatever crosses their fancy with pure unadulterated self-justification.

I knew quite a few like that.

The ones you speak of are of the "What-In-the-Hell-Are-You-Still-Doing-Here?" class.
