Well, being with the bad guys is usually more fun anyway!

It is interesting how, when they see something that may contain criticism, that, rather than check it out to see whether the criticism is valid, jws are basically programmed to run in the opposite direction.

If they indeed have the truth, what are they afraid of?

Hey, I'm nobodies "RR", except my wife's.

Actually, I forgot I was on that site, just recenty unsubscribed a few weeks ago, I mean how many receipes can one get.

I kinda like being on the "the Sodom and Gomorah of websites"...what fun we have had.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. No offense meant, but there was a time when this forum was a nice place to visit. But there are certain undesirables here that I really don't care for. It's fine if you no longer believe in God or anything else for that matter. But to try and destroy the faiths of others in my opinion is wrong.

I never bother witnesses aho are happy with their lot in life, be they brainwashed or not. If their content, even after being enlightened, then God bless them. I'm only interested in those who question, and even then, it's not to tell them, "throw the baby out with the bathwater, live for the moment, there is no God." But to encourage them that a personal relationship with God and Christ is not hinged on a relationship with an organization, no matter what they boast.

Can I add an experience taken from Jehovah's Witnesses on the Web?
I found it hilarious!!!

"Hello brothers and sisters. My name is Cerelia when I saw this board I had to leave a personal experience that will always remain close to my heart.

I was around 6 years old. My mother was pioneering. Her and all of us kids were out in service. All of us included: My sisters Dianna who was 7, and Juli who was 13, my older brother Michael who was 9 and My little brother who was 2 and then me.
(My mother would always take us out with her even when we where babies she would wrap us up and door to door we would go.. the good thing is she always had a partner in service..haha.)

By mid day my mother had finished her time for the month and said that we could all go in. Well we didn't want to. None of us did we kept saying, "No mom! Come on lets keep going...Just a little longer." My mother was surprised but pleased and agreed with us.
When we had finished up that day we where all happy and quite content. While driving home we remembered a little yogurt shop that was on the way, so all 5 of us began to ask mom for some yogurt. (You know using Bambi eyes ect. =) Well mom loved the idea but she said we had no money for it. Yes to admit it we where down but really were fine without it.
We came to the stop light and across the street was the yogurt shop. But we were all just talking about the day in service we just had, so we didn't notice. Then all of a sudden a women came across the street with 5 yogurts on a tray and came to my moms window...She said they where giving out some today. I can't remember the exact wording but I couldn't believe it. I mean we where in the far right lane....and here this lady came with 5 yogurts (out of the blue) and just gave them to us! It was just enough for all of us kids! My mother said thank you and excepted them! We passed them around and my mother said "Thank Jehovah kids!"

Ever since then I am always amazed how Jah cares for us and how much love he has for us. For him to take time and notice the children. It was a small blessing (just 5 little yogurts) that I would always remember."

Someone then responded:

"Dear Cerelia,
What a touching experience. It is obvious you had a strong faith in the blessings from Jehovah at an early age. I remember a friend of mine telling me how when she visited Bethel, that they served icecream for dessert, and the brother who said the prayer, actually thanked Jehovah for the icecream. The simple things in life are often what we remember the most. Thanks for sharing your story.
I have always considered myself a child advocate. I work with children and I love them dearly. It angers me the way many adults seem to view children as second class citizens so to speak. It is like some people forget that they were children once. I always like to tell adults who put children off, how the greatest man who ever lived had time for children. I love to quote that account at Matthew 19: 13-15 "Then young children were brought to him, for him to put his hands upon them and offer prayer; but the disciples reprimanded them." Jesus, however, said: "Let the young children alone, and stop hindering them from coming to me, for the kingdom of the heavens belongs to suchlike ones." And he put his hands upon them and went from there."
Little wonder that Jehovah takes time and notices children as well. We all need to take time out for our little ones, and notice them as well."

I found another thread there that is interesting...

This morning I recieved an email from a new member, *tc*, informing me of an apostate lurking within us.
Well I didn't like that very much! Immediately I banned that individual, his name was Asher.

Now that I've had time to think about it though, I feel pretty bad that I didn't at least give Asher the chance to defend himself. Did I make a mistake?

It's not as if this community is used very much, I certainly don't remeber any posts from Asher at all!
If anyone reading this thinks they could help me in managing and stimulating this group then please speak up.
I'd like to appoint one or two assistant managers.
Well that's it for now, speak to you all again soon.

Warm brotherly love,
Joel

Enjoy your trip to America Tone'!

Joel,
I appreciate your expediency, and understand your seconds thoughts as well, being a manager of another community. However, your actions were warranted by Scripture (2 John 9-11), and if you have reservations about the authenticity of my claims, they can be substantiated by others who know who asher is. I suppose (and sincerely hope) that you are not a member of the alt.JW community, but if you are or any other members here are, they can tell you that the person who posts under the name 'nicholau' (asher) is nothing but opposed to the Truth. He even has gone as far as to make available the confidential publication used by the body of elders to assist them in carrying out their responsibilty as shepherds. That is most inappropriate and reprehensible action. He posts material from the JW-hate sites, and encourages all to have "heated debates". It is not a community for any who want to remain clean in Jehovah's sight, and that should be a concern for us all.
Asher can make a good "show" for himself, and is very "smooth" about his deception. But he is, without a doubt, unfit association. The fact that he is silent here gives rise to the question of why he was removed, but rest assured, the material he reads here is used elsewhere, but twisted and used to further his own ends, to damage the faith of any who may be spiritually young and weak among the community's members.
I recommend that others who can verify asher's true identity post here to reassure Joel that he did the correct thing. I would not chose to remain here at this community along with known apostates, so if he were not removed, I would be bound to follow scriptural counsel and take leave myself. I would rather stay among my brothers and sisters however, and make more aquaintances among the cyber-world congregation.
Again, thank you for taking appropriate action, Joel.
Sincerely, and with warm Christian love,
tc

ps: if u feel the need to remove this post after reading it, please do so, it will cause no offense. This was merely the most convenient way to respond at the moment.

Well, other people like to jump the gun on a rumor. I tend to be more patient and collect the facts. I question the source and I question the target of the rumor. Sometimes I even bring the accuser and the accused together. Often it was either something was taken out of context, a mistake, a misunderstanding, or a lie. I don't like this going behind peoples' back kind of thing; not in judgement nor in practice. I wouldn't want the same done to me.

If I were to base my outlook of Jehovah's Witnesses on what I heard of Jehovah's Witnesses, I wouldn't be one today. I'm glad I looked into Jehovah's Witnesses for myself.

That's my $0.02.

Hi everyone!
I'm new here and just started checking the message board. I read about Asher. When Asher is the same person as nicolaou, then I'm certain he's no good. You would only have to check www.jehovahs-witness.com and read some of the postings from nicolaou, but I don't recommend going there!! Since march 15 I have a JW page online. JWL, Jehovah's Witnesses Linkpage. http://jwl.mainpage.net . It's pure friendly and I will do my best to keep it clean, just like Joel does everything to keep this community clean. I mention my JWsite because nicolaou posted a message on that j-w.com site which was everything but positive. I found that out because in the NedStat statistics on the site I could see where some visitors came from. I went there to see where they came from. It was the j-w.com forum. "Ultimate JW Butt-Kissing Site" he called his message. That makes clear that it's a friendly one, lol, but a little exaggerated to put it that way. I copied this line from the forum and pasted it right in here:

Ultimate JW Butt-Kissing Site! nicolaou 2 Mar 21, 2001 5:31:02 PM

I just saw that there is a new reply on it. I just checked a few postings from nicolaou and he's very smooth. He tells bad news, doubts, negative news articles, but does not really give his own opinion on it. He leads others to think bad of JW, and conclude wrong things about JW, gives others a bad idea of JW. All he gets are apostate replies. Those replies are not to speak against him or to dispute his posts but they only strengthen the negative intention. No positive word is found.

So, when Asher seems to be nicolaou then Joel did good! Keep up the good work!

And visit my butt-kissing site! http://jwl.mainpage.net ;o) New layout since today!!

Rotjong.

It is very sad that Jehovah's Witnesses are so easily duped into going along with some sites. The membership of Alt Jehovah's witnesses (now closed and records kept by msn for legal reasons but reopened at Anointed etc.) was quite extensive. One wonders at how many of them are sad anoraks. Probably many had assumed multiple identities. Who knows perhaps one in there will become a convert to truth and expose there ways. Perhaps a brother or investigator in MS communities will blow the whistle.

I believe most brothers will have soon left that community and been put off joining others. No weapon formed against Jehovah's people will have effect though and diamonds are sharpened by diamond.

It will be interesting to watch the outcome of these sites as their contributors dig in deep trouble for themselves.

Dear Joel,

If it eases your mind, you did the right thing. I went to a JW chat room once and had some lovely conversations with several people. Then I decided to go idle to see what was happening. After being idle for a little time, I discovered that the others I had been talking to were indeed apostates, they were actually laughing and saying things like all JW's were brain damaged! In the meantime, new ones appeared online and I would warn them in private, but no one would listen, so I left, never to return. It was indeed scary, because these same people were so nice when they talked to me before I went idle. It is easy to be fooled by their slick ways of deceit. I sure was! But, I learned my lesson to only be more wary of anyone I do not know personally online. In your investigations of these ones, I hope you give prayerful thought to the hard job of determining just who is or is not apostate. But, if they truly are not apostates, they will let you know, I feel sure, by their actions and words posted. So, rest assured that you were probably right in doing what you did. Better to err on the side of caution, then to cause one to stumble.

Jenlynn

I'm glad you are paying attention to any possible apostates. I would love to have ONE place to be able to go to without being bothered by apostates. Everytime I have tried a JW chat room, there is always someone wanting to debate or the conversation is definitely not christian or upbuilding. I'm glad you kicked this person off.

How do you know you kicked of the right person if he has never posted? I remember doing a talk last year about Justice. The effect was Jehovah would rather let the guilty go free than punish the innocent. You should be ashamed. Asher is a common name in many places. I don't understand your basis for such a decision. Shouldn't you have two or three witnesses?

Strong words John!
In fact Nicolaou himself confirmed his pseudo identity as Asher in another MSN community, 'Jehovah's Christian Witnesses'.

*tc* should be able to verify this.

I'd like to advise everyone not to get too paranoid about associations in here. I may not post very much but I certainly do monitor and I certainly will not tolerate apostate or insulting material.

Please try to enjoy yourselves and remember that this is a place for encouragement and upbuilding association.

Joel,

I dont understand why you are feeling bad about banning a known apostate from this community. What does Jehovah God do with apostates that arise within the congregation. Apostates have chosen not only to stop serving Jehovah, BUT also to corrupt the faith of others.
Why is it ok to associate with them on the internet community and not within the brotherhood? As for those who think Joel should be ashamed, maybe a little look at a Kingdom Ministry article from about 2 yrs ago is needed!!

when I made my original post back in March I was unsure whether Asher was indeed an apostate or not. It was this uncertainty and the haste with which I acted that troubled me. As I said back then "I didn't at least give Asher the chance to defend himself."

Now that all seems pretty academic. It appears that Asher and Nicolaou are indeed one and the same and so I feel I acted correctly (though if there is ever a 'next time' I will at least let anyone accused of apostay make a defence.)

Hope that settles it for everyone.

Its hard to find genuine sites where you can have chats to genuine brothers and sisters isn't it .I hope to meet /chat to some of you dear brothers and sisters soon by the way i went to plymouth assembly to as did Ian

It's good to know that they are so concerned about keeping their sites "pure" (please re-insert the word "dull" here).

They advise everyone else to question their faith and to continually examine it. However, they refuse to do so themselves, and are absolutely terrified of anyone who might ask them to think a little.

Nicolaou's site is pretty good when it gets going, but it's usually relatively quiet.
