Wonder if they should make the same kind of disclaimer in the printed literature: Warning - this material may be different from the eventual DVD we will make...

    Lol.

Now that would surely raise a few eyebrows, predicting noo light will be forthcoming as the original doctrines become too obviously unsustainable. As an apostate I now "speculate" which doctrine will "be refined" next but as a dub I never expected any doctrines to change.

While Sir82 has a point, the issues we all have with the WT's revisions are NOT fixed typos or grammatical changes!

I never heard of someone becoming an apostate over the correction of a typographical error or a syntactical revision.

    Seriously!

Thanks Cedars. Yes I've noticed when they republish publications, they modify certains things in the new versions. Sometimes because of doctrinal changes..

Here's one reason they have this disclaimer:

    WT article altered from original

Foreign language and born-ins are the new members. If you cant read well, grab a new brochure with pics. If you are in your teens and don't have a damn clue who was President in the 80's you surely won't know why the CD library only goes back to the 50's. Just turn on your i-phone and get the new info that only goes back to 2000! These are the same people who are so misled that when the GB says that you can't even go check in to your hotel for the DC, without being dressed like Caleb's dad, they think nothing of it. I know that sentence structure sucked, but it is true! You are not supposed to show up at a hotel dressed in a worldly fashion, aka shorts and t-shirt in the summer! We don't want to give a bad witness now. I'll take a ex-prison biker in leather next to my kid before i'll take Brother Polo Mc No-pockets and his baby elephant magic show.

Wow RayPublisher, that's a very good example of why this legal disclaimer is significant. And on a personal note, it's great to see you on the forum my friend!

Thank you for posting that, RayPublisher.

I've noticed similar stuffs in various Watchtower publication. For that reason, I no longer discard any WT magazines or books. How else are we going to prove their writings made in Watchtower articles without original printed copies? All Watchtower has to do is omitting any incriminating comments from CD-Rom as they go and will accuse apostates for adding them in.

Cedars, the WTS said alterations and differences between printed and electronic versions could and would exist when they announced the creation of the Watchtower Online Library! They didn't bury that qualification in the warranty but said so in the announcement. I noticed this right away and pointed it out in the thread where this was discussed. The WTS didn't blow a trumpet announcing this development, but they didn't sweep it under the carpet either. Instead, they did the time-honored thing when it comes to obscuring things you don't want people to notice or know: hide it in plain sight.

Some doubted there was proof of differences between printed and Watchtower Library CD versions of the same material but others had already exposed some examples and now RayPublisher has exhibited still more. What is even more arresting about the example he displayed is the difference in the text from the original hard copy magazine article, the bound volume version and the CD. So this is a long-standing practice of the WTS and the reason is clear: the organization is determined to alter, distort, and change the evidence so that future researchers won't be able to accuse it of making false predictions and prophecies.

All of this tells us that these electronic and even printed records are not trustworthy. As is usually the case with WTS publications, no mention is made in the texts themselves of any revisions or alterations of material. I remember such things being done with the old Truth That Leads to Eternal Life book and the Revelation Climax book is a more recent example. This kind of deceit and falsehood is now something we should expect from the WTS and its minions. I'm grateful that we have the resources of forums like this one and contributors like you, RayPublisher and others to keep the spotlight shining unblinkly on these liars.

Thanks Quendi for the background info. I'm too young to remember details from when the CD-ROM was first announced! The above legal disclaimer was the first time I saw a frank admission that the CD-ROM could conceivably be different from the printed publications. I thought it might be of interest to other folks too - i.e. that you can find it in the license agreement.
