This morning I measured it : 7 inch.
*** it-2 p. 512 Number, Numeral ***
Seven is used frequently in the Scriptures to signify completeness. At times it has reference to bringing a work toward completion. -

What I find ironic is how "divination" is considered to be Satanic right up there with magic, but the Watchtower uses all sorts of numerology to support their ideas/existence as the only true religion - and numerology is considered a form of divination!

There are so many of these hooks in our minds. Steve Hassan talked about this in "Combatting Cult Mind Control" about certain words that triggered "Moonie thinking" .... like "moon".
How about ... world, New World Order, system, friends ... or when natural disasters are reported on the news.

I work in an office where I have to enter the code 1914 to turn the alarm off or on.

We used to have a real crazy-bird here who kept harping on the correctness of the 607 bce date. Scholar, I believe he called himself.
What the 607 fanatics seem to overlook is that (even if it was 607, which is obviously was NOT) - the derivation of 2520 years to get the date 1914 and then present it as some sort of "hidden Bible prophecy" is as crazy as anything that ever came out of the Bedlam hospital for the insane.
Nut-case numerology at its finest - and, to top it off - the prophecy DID NOT COME TRUE in 1914, but they are still harping on it.
Unbelievable.

"Scholar" was everywhere back in the day. Really good stuff; I remember he used to say that renowned Wt scholars laughed at secular historians who couldn't tell whether Jerusalem was destroyed in 587 or 588, while JWs knew it was just he single year, 607. Very excellent crazy-talk.

Yes, and as I recall - after many, many challenges - he could never name any of the "celebrated Watchtower scholars".
Which led us all to further ask: then, exactly WHO is celebrating their scholarship?

The way we seek patterns and connections is the key to how we conceptualize in the first place.
This.........................and........................This look similar................are they somehow related?............hmmm.....I wonder HOW?
This is how we got myths, superstitions and religions.
Then, humans began skeptically TESTING these patterns and SCIENCE was born.
Gradually (for the educated) myths and superstitions were REPLACED by actual testable facts.
Religion, however, confers promises for later and dies more slowly!

Salamanders sometimes run out of wet logs (where they were hiding) when those logs are put on the fire.
Therefore, salamanders are logically created by fire.
This was believed for centuries back in the dark ages.
