  Well, preaching stones does support the lame line that God didn't want to make man as robots who MUST do things: it's more fun to see humans being forced to do things under a death threat and via social coercion.

  On the other hand, it might be a nice change of pace for the rocks, ie so instead of only being used as weapons of mob murder, they could have a chance to socialize a bit with the potential victims (of course, after cleaning the blood off of them first....)
