I despise the Summer Olympics and have refused to watch them since the massacre in Munich in 1972. The last time I bothered to watch the Winter Olympics was the 1980 Games in Lake Placid and the "Miracle on Ice". I wish they did live up to their lofty ideals and had hopes once the Cold War ended that they would finally do so. Those hopes have not been realized. The overt nationalism and politics have been joined by doping scandals, cheating and crass commercialism. I can do without them.

Princess Margaret died ten years ago and I can assure you her 'sporting activities' did not include horses!
I'm not a great Olympics fan but my wife can watch it for hours.

Last night I went to a get together and the olympics were on the tube and they had mens
sand lot volley ball 2 on 2.
I found myself enjoying the contest. I wouldnt have looked for it on the tube but it was there and it
entertained me for a half hour.
