The name of this thread is quite apt.
JWs, purportedly as "lovers of Truth", should be overjoyed that the biblical record of the events in the Neo-Babylonian period can be completely reconciled with the secular history for the period.
Instead they wrestle with trivialities, which in isolation might seem compatible with JW dogma. For example, the most recent apologist poster (under various usernames) made claims about how "all" in Jeremiah 25:11 should be taken as hyperbole for 'most' (even though this doesn't affect the actual historical application anyway). Worse still, their interpretation is actually that "all the nations serve Babylon" 'really' means 'Jews in exile'. *
*They claim 'nations serving Babylon' 'really' refers to Nebuchadnezzar's 'sovereignty' being above God's because Jews were in exile and there wasn't a Jewish king (though the Jewish kings had to pay tribute to the World Powers anyway). The fact that their interpretation conflicts with the story of Nebuchadnezzar's purported '7 years of madness' during the supposed 2520 years is quietly ignored (Daniel Chapter 4, and verses 31-35 in particular) .The demise of the Assyrian World Power, which had oppressed the Jews for some time, was a big deal for the Jews. (If in doubt, read 2 Kings chapters 16 to 20). So it is especially meaningful that the 70 years during which 'nations served Babylon' would begin when the nations were no longer serving Assyria, in 609 BCE.

scholar will show the circular reasoning involved in the 609 chronology. scholar will show how it makes little sense ftom even a biblical viewpoint. scholar will show that the seventy years conincided with the depopulation of Judah and thus could only end upon their return. scholar will even edify participants wih his doctorate level of understanding hebrew and greek.

So why don't you? Stop threatening and just do it, or better yet why don't you publish your 607 theories in a peer reviewed historical academic journal and see how far that gets you. I mean it's obvious that this forum is below your intellect and academic achievements, so why not settle the 607 problem once and for all by changing the academic opinion on it. I mean you now apparently have the credentials to do it.

I am involved in a book on the destruction for Jerusalem and it will most certainly be peer reviewed unlike Jonnson and co. I have published several articles through the years, many of which I have had the luxury to draw upon for my dissertation.

scholar will not be bothered with trivialities like get spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar correct.
scholar will begin every sentence with either "scholar" or "I", randomly switching between first and third person.

2+2=5
This scholar guy is incredible! So smart!
2+2=5 will be so impressed
2+2=5 will start heralding 1914 as the year of Christs return
2+2=5 will join scholar and they can rub the apostates faces in it
2+2=5 and scholar will continue to refer to themselves in third person demonstrating their ways of higher wisdom
I thought it was the Watchtowers 607 apologists who used circular reasoning, accepting some dates in history and rejecting others that are proven from the same source. But that is not the case at all! Go get 'em Scholar! Your the best!
