What do you think will happen when all the FDS die

I'm not planning anything....
But when they all pop off, what are the Rest going to do?They think the NS will come before they all die, so how the heck will they cope with it ,scriptually speaking/ surely cause a few to 'desert'?
There was a thread a few days ago about elders being up graded to FDS status by some out of context crappily applied scripture;do you think they'll explain the absence of God's action with' the FDS IS STILL HERE!
or will they work everyone up into a horribly humiliating fever pitch of protelisizing ,the like of which we have yet to see? The latter I hope! Any thoughts?

Considering that there seem to have been 'roughly' 9,000 'annointed' lingering around for the last 30 years, I don't see this being a problem for the Borg anytime soon.

Although I'm sure that before he goes the very last FDS member will provide some wonderful 'new light' on that question :-)

Termite: I agree with Artful. One other possibility I wonder about is whether the non-anointed men now heading up the corporations in official positions will find a way to make the GB and FDS in general 'irrelevant' to the JW doctrine. When the GB resigned their 'official' capacity, in October 2000, as heads of the various WTS corporations, they have been made ineffective legally speaking. They could be dismissed at anytime by the current corporate bosses. I have wondered if maybe this was a legal manuever by the WTS lawyers to trick the GB into irrelevancy.

The WT has been planning for this for a number of years, some of you may recall the district convention where they started putting this in place and preparing the R&F for this .

They introduced New Light with the group known as THE GIVEN ONES

THis was followed up by some wt articles dealing with this new group called "THE GIVEN ONES' IT discussed how they would help out the GB

the bases is Moses and Joshua, Elijah and Elisha, Paul and tim

all these dudes had RIGHT HAND MEN to run things when they were not there

so with the new light in place, some bible text to support it

with the aging of the GBs and thier load being so heavy( day to day cares of feeding the widows like in the bible as it were)

they have found 7 Certified Men to handle the day to day

so they can focus on spiritual matters

and now with the shift of the GB from officers to NONannointed dudes
everything is in place for what will be the BIGGEST CHANGE IN WT HISTORY IN MY FEAR

this new change will put the final touches

As you read this email, i was informed that the GB right now are trying to figure out how they can RE-DEFINE Mattt 24:45-47 --WHO THE FDS REALLY ARE

WITH THIS new Definition coming down the pipe line it will make it possible for anyone to be directed by Jah to provide food in due season

and the wt will use thier time and tested method of slowing introducting major dogma changes so as not to upset the MASSES

while it will be a wake up call for many perhaps for the rest they will merely veiw it as NEW LIGHT FROM JAH

JT: That is very interesting ... I think the "Given One's" change came about after I walked away in 1992 ... but, this would all make sense ... most interesting ... and in a way, seems to fit some with what I was wondering. Thanks again.

I agree that there will be "new light" on the FDS.

The fact that there are a few thousand anointed remaining will not put this off indefinitely. Many of these are older people around the same age as the current Governing Body. They can't just pull someone like that out of the R&F (even if anointed) and expect them to assume a new role at Bethel. Many of them are also women, who will not be used in leadership roles. Others are people who would have no organizational abilities at all, or people whom the WT would never consider as role models even though they are counted statistically as being anointed. So the "new light" has to come sooner rather than later.

Justin: Good points. Even JW Elders who are anointed, though few today, who would be of an age that could be used at the highest levels, are not too likely to be called upon, unless they have been Elders a long time, and in the organization a long time ... or some few anointed Circuit Overseers might be asked to serve at Bethel ... but that would be likewise rare. So, I think your point is right on ... new light will be flashing forth ... and maybe with a new generation taking over, there might be a chance, though small, for the organization to begin moving mainstream ... who knows?

I have to disagree with some of the opinions here that suggest that the advancement of time means a significant change in the 144,000/FDS doctrine.

First, we all know that the partaker count means absolutely nothing.

Second, we all know that the self-proclaimed anointed outside of the WTBTS elite also means absolutely nothing.

Third, I see no reason for the succession path into the WTBTS anointed elite to have to change as long as there are a sufficient number of long time, toe-the-line, pool of DOs and COs. Remember, their non-anointed status can be changed with a simple slurp and chomp at the next memorial. And they will do so if given a little hint or two from the established elite.

Can't you see it already? Consider the following plain talk translation of a governing body member to a DO:

GB member: "Brother Non-anointed DO, we've noticed that for the past thirty years that you've been a good toady and have kissed Brooklyn ass without question. Furthermore, we see that your tyrannical ways are a faithful imitation of what we at the top have always practiced. All you have to do is to have a little snack at the next memorial and there will be a cozy retirement spot for you where you can advance in your megalomania. And it's a lot better than that trailer you're currently inhabiting. Don't you feel that heavenly calling at last (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)?"
