This is one of the few times I desagree with you. A newbie coming here can pick and choose what they want to read, and they usually can tell what the subject is about by the title.

After they read some heavy duty stuff, I don't think it is a bad thing for them to drop in on a thread like this and see people having a nice chat.

A balance between serious and fluff is good, I think.
