sometimes I wonder why it doesn't happen more often. some Jws are mentally unstable and on the edge already and a JC might cause them to crack.

What about a lawyer? Has anyone attempted to have a lawyer present for their judicial committee meeting? (The elder handbook says that the accused may bring "witnesses" who would simply give their "testimony" but then leave. So I would assume that a JC wouldn't proceed if a lawyer came along and refused to leave.)
Anyone?

If I or one of my family get pulled into one, there will need to be a 911 call. Our library where star chaimber hearings are held have large non tempered glass windows that 3 elders will be tossed thru

In California, an abuse survivor could call 911 and have the JC arrested if they tried to threaten the family or prevent them from cooperating with the police.
Would make a great newspaper headline.

Glander
I know of a young Ministerial servant who was called into a JC on accusations of fornication with a sister who had an unbelieving mate. After the JC meeting he went to his car. The unbelieveing mate walked up and shot him dead through the car window. The police were called.

: Have the police ever been called to a Judicial Committee Hearing
Yes...wasn't there an experience in one of the yearbooks where an unbelieving husband called the police when elders tried to intervene in a family dispute. The attending officers were so impressed with the kind knowledgable elders, the cleanliness of the Hall, all the colorful books and the mysterious lack of windows that they immediately wanted to hear more about these curious people. A study was started and several of their fellow officers joined in. It seems they too wanted to hear more of these life saving truths. "We've never heard such things" one of them was heard to say. Several of the officers were baptized and have joined the Pioneer ranks while the search for employment more suitable for a minister. Their former Police Chief is showing intrest and Sarge the precinct police dog is taking the magazines and is said to be lapping up the life giving waters found therein .
