One of the best arguments against the tower of babel story is that the most predominate language on Earth today (in international commerce) - that is, English - plainly did not exist prior to a few centuries after the time of christ.

I thought the original PIE language came from somewhere near Armenia. It was a tribe that developed horse domestication and spread east and west from there.

Yeah, there are two competing hypotheses:

The two are not necessarily in conflict....The scenario in the Kurgan hypothesis could still hold for the diffusion of Indo-European beyond Anatolia between 4500 and 2500 BC (after the invention of the wheel and contemporaneous with the domestication of the horse). The Anatolian hypothesis would have the language originating earlier in Anatolia (c. 7000-6000 BC, prior to the invention of the wheel), where it diversified into various Anatolian languages, and then one branch spread from there north and then later diversified into the non-Anatolian Indo-European languages (which iirc lacked the laryngeals that the Anatolian languages still retained).
