No, it was Joe. Joe Scaglione.
And Scully, if I'm not mistaken it's lecithin, right?
I thought it WAS pronounced "less-i-thin."
Did I read what you wrote all wrong?

Hi LDH
Now I'm completely confused!! When I was trying to determine the 'right' way of spelling/pronouncing it, I did a Google search for lethicin and lecithin, and got results for both.
Now, smashing my own credibility all to crap I looked it up in my handy dandy medical dikshunarie. It's LECITHIN, and it refers to any of a group of phospholipids common in plants and animals. Lecithins are found in the liver, nerve tissue, semen, and in smaller amounts in bile and blood. They are essential for the metabolism of fats and are used in the processing of foods, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics, and inks. Rich dietary sources are soybeans, egg yolk, and corn. Deficiency leads to hepatic and renal disorders, high serum cholesterol levels, atherosclerosis, and arteriosclerosis.
Considering the semen reference, I'm surprised the GB didn't equate eating DQ ice cream with oral sex!

PS to SUSCARRA (editing because I've used up my posting limit for the first time EVER!)
That information came from a medical dictionary, under the term "lecithin". Don't worry, nobody's putting semen in your ice cream!! The dictionary was stating that the body uses lecithin in fat metabolism, and certain fatty compounds are needed to produce sperm. The lecithin that's used in food preparation (i.e., DQ ice cream, etc.) is a vegetable derivative.

SEMEN....Oh, Heaven forbid, I could have gone all day(rest of my life) without hearing that. Are you really sure they use semen in food, pharm., and cosmetics? Did you read this in a WT or Awake? Please tell me you are just pulling our legs. Trying hard not to be a barf kitty.

Does anyone remember the Lecithin scare in the '60's that brought about the fear of, if I remember correctly, Almond Joys, Mounds, and Hershey chocolate? There again after much stupidity, someone finally wrote to the manufacturer and the new gossip said the Lecithin came from vegetable matter. I remember my parents going nuts (no pun) reading labels because Lecithin was everywhere...could it be a conspiracy from the Devil???

I think it's very rare, SUSCARRA. But yes, it does happen. Besides, it's very good stuff, that. I should know. My body manufactures it. Packed with vitamins and minerals, absolutely chock-a-block with powerful nutrients to feed the little swimmers as they complete their noble 'quest'.
Pity it tastes so horrible tho.
Besides, it's almost like saliva, really. The two fluids are extremely similiar.

Boy I sure wish I had time to play with you all (ya'll) ;-)
Remember when Mars Bars were on the no eat list?
The entire J.W. blood doctrine is so full of holes its ridiculous.
I cant believe it has existed as long as it has. When I had to get a Rogham injection during my pregnancy because of my blood type to protect the baby, my J.W. aunt says to me "dont they use blood for that?" To create the injection they use a sample of your blood so your body doesnt reject the fetus, in the event it has a different blood type than yours. Anyway, I didnt even respond. What buisness was it of hers, I wasnt even baptized or active as a J.W. My childs life was important to me. Like im going to risk it just because it was a "gray area".
Wasnt the Mars bar a candy bar?
Im confused.
There used to be a ban on lecithin? Too funny!
I'm a manager at a natural foods store. I've gotten requests for NON soy based lecithin, which is almost impossible to find!
JW's were worried about it being derived from blood and I've got customers who would be happy to just find one not derived from soy.
Ironic. [8>]

ps: Mars Bar is/was a candy bar. Isn't it made any more?
