  I agree. The expose' of the Catholic Priest pedophile problem is such a coincidence/blessing. It could not have come at a better time. The GB is eagerly watching as the Catholic clergy are doing the best to report and clean up and pay damages. The world is watching this one, as it is far reaching due to their large numbers. Next, come the GB with finger-pointing, blaming, (remember they called elders, "untrained, unpaid volunteers"?), and covering up with excuses. They are showing their true colors and every day that goes by with no change only strengthens how wrong the policy and they are for being in denial.

  It has been hard waiting for Dateline to run. I know, I told a judge about it over a year ago in regard to my case and I have looked like a fool due to it's long-time coming. However, it has been worth the wait and things may be rolling with the governments when, if exposed alone, the JW issue would not have had enough momentum to cause an effect.

  Incredible! ... I agree with 'Thewiz" ... that the 'apostate' label is truly their way to spin-city the situation ... mind-control at its finest!

  I thought so too, til I wrote posts to forums and letters to the editor all over the U.S. only to have most of them either deleted or told that my posts were "inflammatory"!!!!!

  I included URLS and links to sites like silentlambs, etc, and the negative replies (back to me) from Editors and deletions from sites like MASSLIVE.com and SYRACUSEONLINE.com made me crazy.

  I FINALLY posted that I guess NOBODY CARES about Witness kids being molested, or maybe their relative's kiddies if they were JWs or were "studying" with JWs.

  My posts were deleted within 10 minutes.(sigh)

  I then wrote post to one forum and asked WHY it was okay to discuss the pedophile Catholic priests (on the SAME forum) but when I post websites about the JWs, who come into their neighborhoods and knock on their doors, wanting to gain ENTRANCE to start "home bible studies" who merely RELOCATE known and admitted molesters to a new area to "knock on more doors"........doesn't this ALARM anyone?

  Guess what?

  No reply.

  It is extremely frustrating, to say the least.

  There WERE some folks on a couple of boards (one is "FRAY" @ msn.com) where my posts met with some enthusiasm and thumbs up, but when I kept mentioning the "Dateline" coverage........well.......it began to take on the dynamics of (cough) "It's right around the corner, it's right around the corner,it's riiiggghhhtt aarroouunndd......."

  I'm not blaming anyone for the waiting game (well, maybe the lawyers at the Society <grin>), certainly not Bill Bowen, or anyone on the side of "let's GO with this program", I'm just venting, I guess. I have been MOST anxious for the members of my immediate family who view me as pond scum, to SEE what filthy secrets and illegal practices that the "policy" upheld and enforced by the WBTS has DONE to nice people all over the world.

  We HAVE to keep hammering away at whoever will listen, or wherever we can post the TRUTH about the Watchtower. Even if it ISN'T popular and readily accepted, at least we have the inner satisfaction that we KNOW we gave it all we HAD...to expose this hideous "coverup" of JWs who prey on little kids and GET AWAY WITH IT!!!!!!!

  The problem with the announcment of 'something big afoot' is that NO JW can stand to be 'out of the loop' and thus will want, no NEED to know just what 'something big afoot' is - so when Dateline finally airs many of them may be watching just from anticipation. We hope.

  But I agree - it's more important to reach the general public, although as many have discovered, the world in general really could give a crap about JWs. I mean NOONE cares about them, JWs are nobodys to the world. And THAT pisses the JWs off!

  Sunspot, if this was the tone of your posts, no wonder they were deleted, because you're well off the mark.

  Tell me, were you a JW or not? If you were, did you go door to door or not? If you did, were you just trying to find new kids to sexually molest? Or were you really convinced that you had "the truth" and you were saving people's lives? Personally, I was in the last category, and I think 99% of the dubs are.

  When people in this board generalize and call JW hypocrites, with no distinctions, I wonder if that doesn't tell more about themselves than about the dubs they are critizising.

  Ha ha ha ha! 99% of JWs are going door-to-door cause they are trying to save people lives? NOT! They're doing it because a) they are guilted/forced into it by family, b) they are expected to do it to retain social status amongst peers in their group. I'm not saying EVERYONE, I'm sure that some fall into the catagory of 'trying to save people' - but the vast majority are just bidding time out there knocking on not at homes for 5 mins to make the day pass more quickly. Oh, and dying for the moment they get to go 'on break' and visit Micky D's or Buger Fling.

  Yip. I agree with NameWithHeld. That's the situation. I've never said, nor has Silentlambs or many people here, that all Dubs are paedophiles. That's nonsense. We are very vocal about the small minority of Dubs who are, though, and the Society that shelters and protects them for 'the good of the congregation'.

  Oh, and the funny thing was - in the 7-8 different halls I went to, there was usually one or two of those 'spiritual Nazi's' as we called them - you know the type - and NOBODY wanted to go in FS with them. Why not? Cause they would want to actually preach to as many houses as possible, driving quickly to the territory, not wasting time, not taking breaks, etc. No "let's make a call on the other side of the county" with them! So that pretty much shoots down the 99% theory for me!

  And on the Pedos I wish everyone would get off the train of thinking people like Bill are saying that JWs are "Full of them" or "All JWs are pedos", etc. The problem is not the amount of pedos(one is too many), it's the fact that in many cases the elder body can hide them behind WTBTS policy to 'keep the org clean'. THAT policy needs to change.

  Just HOW was I "well off the mark", as you put it? Do you deny the fact that in order to "keep up appearances of a clean people", that SCORES of admitted (but supposedly repentant) kiddy-diddlers have been relocated to new KH's where nobody knows their past history?

  The molested and traumatized youngsters and their families that THEN have to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives and THEN have to deal with the knowledge that a sick pervert has not only NOT received punishment for his actions.....but now has "fresh territory" in which to roam freely.

  I never SAID that ALL Witnesses are pedophiles, but armed with the knowledge that the Society HAS operated in this manner, let's just say that the frightening possiblity of having one of these sickos knocking on ANY doors, would certainly be disturbing to most people.

  As for the "tone" of my posts, as I EXPLAINED, I wrote that after several "polite" posts just asking that people read the links I included (JWfiles, http://www.intrex.net/tallyman/WT_Evil.html and silentlambs.com), to INFORM people of what the Watchtower's REAL beliefs and practices are.........and these posts were systematically deleted, THAT'S when I got irked and asked if anybody CARED about the JW kiddies who's "justice" was never considered, while the perverts rode off into the sunset to begin these practices all over again....

  There ARE a lot of sincere, sweet JWs, who have NO clue about the manipulative publishing corporation they are slaving for----these are caring people who have been duped into believing the Watchtower agenda, and my beef is NOT with THEM.....I WAS one of them, for far too long.

  Harboring pedophiles and allowing them the opportunity to continue to prey on even MORE unsuspecting children is WRONG!!!

  Covering up their filthy practices in order to "not bring reproach upon Jehovah's name" is WRONG! We were taught that Jehovah is a God of JUSTICE, and I'm positive that if he'd strike down Lot's wife for turning around to look at a burning city, he's gonna have BIGGER plans for pedophiles, ya think?
