I just thought of more Sidney Poitier movies:
If you really want good movies from Sidney Poitier, how can you forget Lilies of the Field? He also played an excellent role in The Blackboard Jungle.
So many good movies back then, how could we ever list them all?
If God's Spirit is filling a Kingdom Hall, how is it that Satan can manuever the ones within that Kingdom Hall at the same time?

Dakota, I couldnt remember the exact title of those Poitier movies. I figured someone would mention them. :-)
And also, who could forget Poitier in Porgy & Bess?

Many of my favourites have already been mentioned.
I'd like to add anything with Frank Sinatra in it, for the sap in me.
Finally - "Rebel without a cause".
Now THAT was a classic!

12) American Graffiti ('nuff said about its cast)

I was thinking of movies that I watch on video, you know, those bits that you watch again and again.
'4 weddings and a funeral', where Hugh thingey is sat at the table with all his ex-girl friends.
'Airplane', where the hero dances to Stayin' Alive.
'Once upon a time in the west', where Claudia cardinale is, well, just hereself.
'The full monty', all of it.

Ohhhhhh Tim, I LOVE the movie Where Eagles Dare. It was based on an Alistair McLean (sp?) novel and, as usual, I thought the book was better, but not by much! They stayed pretty true to it, I thought.
Eman, Airplane is one of my favs of all time, too! (..."and that's when I developed my drinking problem"..."Aunty Em! Aunty Em! It's a twister!" ..."a hospital?! What is it?..."a big building with patients, but that's not important right now"..."Surely you're not serious?!" "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley"..."the red zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only; there is no parking in the red zone"...) Sorry, maybe I've watched it too many times?
