Rbih, you are biased about this subject and this has shown in your previous posts.

You are comparing Catholicism with Muslim Fundamentalism here, and Muslim Fundamentalism can not even be compared with other more moderate forms of Islam, much less so with Christianity.

Oh, yes. Isn't Christianity so much superior to Islam? Why their killing days have past.

In Uganda, they are pushing their "Kill The Gays" bill, where homosexual practices can bring about execution and long prison sentences. They are strongly supported by Evangelical American Christians, some of whom have some political power in the US. It would appear, that we are just a few bad elections away from having a good old-fashioned Christian Taliban.

I'm just pointing out that the only reason any extreme group get's to move past their killing daze is because they lose political power. There is no sense insisting that this would not happen with Christians TODAY---they've already proven that given enough power, they too would enforce their will on everyone.

I blame the god they've created. He's a pretty brutal character, and central to Christianity and Islam.

In the best imitation of John Cleese I can muster..."but sir they arrrrennnn't doing it here! Doesn't that make them okay?!?!"

Religion mixed with Politics has always proven to be a lethal combo. Can't those that are believers just practice it in their own privacy or centers of worship and be happy with that, and let freedom rule?

    Great video:

fuck religion. it's all the same bullshit. even buddhists, which are generally considered to be of the peaceful kind, torture and kill people because they believe in some other made up crap.

well, dudeism is cool of course. "i want you to take it easy". that's a commandment i can live with!

Your right, dudeism is a great way to live and let live , if you really must worship a god of old, why not Thor? He is much more fair, and just, than those desert windbags YHWH and Allah, that want you to grovel on your knees from sunrise to sunset.

thor is cool too, but everytime i try to worship him, the people around me consider me a nazi.... which is not so cool in my opinion.

Exactly 2t2c----some Christians feel their belief system is superior, but say just set the past aside and look at us now. In other words, they are not just as capable of bloody extremism as Muslims are. Silly assertion when the past is not that far back in time. Religion and Politics are our most powerful institutions. When the two are mixed, they become entirely too powerful and it is a toxic concoction. But all ideologies turn out their extremists. No need to get smug about your superior religion---it may just be a humiliated religion that has been relieved of a great deal of it's power. The extremists are still there, chomping to get the power---and when they DON'T get that power, they are relegated to terroism---which if coupled with political power would be redefined as war.

Ideologies produce extremism---and violence for the sake of the ideology. Remember Oklahoma City and Dr. Tiller. Different ideologies, but extremism that rivals Islamic extremism.

"I'll bet there were no Jdubs at that party, see how we are protected by Jehovah."

Oh my god! I could totally see the borg putting this story in one of their magazines. It would look something like this:

"In one particular country in 2012, a party was held which included worldly music and lewd dancing. The party may very well have been to celebrate the birthday of one of its attendees. Authorities stormed the complex and a violent outburst soon ensued. In all, 17 people were killed in the fracas. Due to their high moral standards and refusal to engage in practices condemned by the the bible, no Jehovah's Witnesses were in attendance. Is it not happifying to see that obedience to Jehovah's faithful slave results in the safety of His sheep?!"

Nowhere....of course.....will they mention that such a disaster took place in a country that does not even have any JWs in it anyway. But that wont' matter. All the JWs across the earth will look at this "fact" and it will reinforce their beliefs

Muslim extremism is a much more pressing problem though, because that idealogy is much more interwoven with various political powers around the world right now. This is a major threat to freedom. It seems like the problem is just getting worse on its own, and as usual the NATO/western powers are going to have to deal with it again real soon .

    Side point:

It's so interesting that while all this unfolds the Chinese just sit back reap all the benefits of western powers adding stability to middle east. Did you know that most oil pumped out of the middle east right now goes to China? So we get to pay high prices at the pump to subsidize China's demand, isn't that wonderful? How China continues to get away with this, just floors me.

NC, who are “they“? In Uganda, I mean.

Politics rule the world, and they seem to follow their own religion.
