Interesting topic. We know JW was adopted because Rutherford wanted a unique name. What makes me sick is that in the JW " light " video the excuse for JW's not calling themselves Christians is because they ( Rutherford and cronies " felt that it had become a meaningless name. So why not SHOW PEOPLE what being a Christian means!!!!! That is one of the dumbest things I have heard!! I have also decided that in my next Elders meeting, if they ask if I believe that Jehovah is using the organization today, I will say YES with a clear conscience. I just won't say that I don't believe in the same person they do when I hear that name. Their " Jehovah " is not my God. They do not really know the Father because they reject the one He sent, namely Yeshua. Also, I am tired of hearing it over and over. At the DC, I heard a young Bethelite Elder use the name Jehovah 67 times, only he said " Jehovahgod " for 30 minutes.

It used to bother me when some of the brothers would say this name like 50 times in a prayer. Like Jehovah this and Jehovah that. I know my dad's name, but I don't use it when I talk to him or talk to others about him. I call him "Dad", or my father. So why would I constantly refer to the name of my heavenly father over and over again in every conversation I have? Its like Bob Dole. LOL. Mentioning his own name at the beginning of every sentence. I guess it was just a pet peeve of mine.

It is in intresting word, in that of the few in this list, it has an immediate stream of emotions associated with it.
But that is largely because of my experiance with liars who run a billion-dollar corporation and use the word "jehovah" to make their buck.
There is nothing in the bible about a Governing body.
There is nothing in the bible about a "earthly organization" or a "governing body". Jesus said it quite clearly: "My kingdom is NO PART OF THIS WORLD". And yet, here the Watchtower is. Pretending it is no part of the world - and yet it is a legally recognized coporation. A part of this world. An earthly organization.
Freaking duh.
