There can be no settlement in this case nor will there be. Despite any further appeals avenues taken by WBTS or change in PDs awarded a gag order can not be implemented in California. This is why Candace and Rick are aggressively going public with the case.

As big as, or even bigger perhaps, than the money is that there is now a precedent for other cases such as hers. This win makes others more possible... not just in people feeling strong enought to step forward and speak; but in winning them as well.
If I were the wts, I think I would have no choice but to appeal... just for that reason.

I truly hope this gives others the strength to take on the society. It will take more than one to topple the evil giant. I am so glad Candace won (at least at this moment). It makes me ill to think of how vehemently the lawyers for the WTS are fighting for the rights of a child molester to cover their tracks and mistakes. The God I want to worship would have nothing to do with such a vile, hypocritical organization...I mean, cult.

Cases decided at the trial court level are not legal precedent.
