Hi back!!
To stay on topic with my post...
In the foreword of one of Russell's books, "The Divine Plan of the Ages", written in 1908, he writes that college educations are:
"Not only are the great Colleges and Seminaries undermining the faith of the better educated, but the Common School books, and especially those used in the High Schools, are similarly inculcating a distrust in the Bible, a contradiction of its teachings. ..."
[typed exactly as it appears and yes, the grammar/spelling is just that bad...]
So, if these idiots had had their way, most JWs wouldn't even have obtained a high school diploma. That would go over well in today's job market...

"If one understands the cause, it is easier to implement the prevention and cure of a bad habit. Did you know, for example, that mothers and fathers who stroke the genitals of their fretful babies to keep them quiet are unwittingly encouraging them to become masturbators later on?" -

But would this from the watchtower suggest that Adam and since he was in god's image mean that both he and god are Hermaphrodite's?
*** w56 9/1 pp. 531-532 par. 20 The Divine Origin of Marriage ***
20 When God took the male and female characteristics or qualities that were combined in balance in the original Adam and divided them between the sexes he did not mean to start any battle of the sexes in the paradise of Eden. He did not mean to start any competitive coexistence between the sexes. Though the man Adam had the feminine properties divided from him and embodied in his wife, he was still left perfect; he was still in God's image and likeness. Eve, with the female characteristics controlling in her, was likewise perfect, but she was one flesh with Adam. One flesh does not hurt itself; it does not fight itself. The living cells of the flesh combine together, hold together in various organs and tissues, according to the law of the great Organizer, Jehovah God. So it was to be with the two sexes, for they are in reality just one flesh. They were to complement each other, the one to supply to the other what the other felt it needed, and vice versa. God so organized the two sexes that they found their greatest happiness and contentment by co-operating together in doing the perfect will of their heavenly Father. The marriage of a woman from his very own bone and flesh to Adam would not result in odd children, overbalanced in any direction, showing unusual peculiarities or deformities. The man and woman were both perfect. Perfection united with perfection produces-perfection. A perfect son of Adam and Eve married to a perfect daughter of theirs would bring forth a perfect child.Even back in 56 they were trying to explain the "unexplainable" cuz they had Jah's spirit guidin them gosh durn.

"No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable
or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family." - Awake, July 2009, p. 29

Christ Alone - that IS a truly awful quote, together with the belligerent responses to the readers who wrote in. I guess it would be difficult to top that. It deserves more exposure, that's for sure.
It makes Tod Akin look positively "enlightened" by comparison. And that's saying something.

WT 1976 6/1 p330
"I recall a form of punishment that worked effectively on Horacio, my fifth son, when the literal rod failed to do so. He was about eight years old. He was too insistent in associating with undesirable neighborhood boys. So I had him dressed in one of his sister’s dresses. Not daring to be seen with that on, he stayed in the house and off the street."

*** Awake! 1960 March 8 p.27 ***
As a rule, for a Christian to go to a worldly psychiatrist is an admission of defeat, it amounts to 'going down to Egypt for help.' -Isaiah 31:1.
Often when a Witness of Jehovah goes to a psychiatrist, the psychiatrist will try to persuade him that his troubles are caused by his religion, entirely overlooking the fact that the Christian witnesses of Jehovah are the best-oriented, happiest and most contented group of people on the face of the earth. They have the least need for psychiatrists. Also, more and more psychiatrists are resorting to hypnosis, which is a demonic form of worldly wisdom.
