Fakesmile - Thanks for the valuable tip. That is top of my list. I think hantavirus is mostly being reported in Yosemite this year, though.
my bad. avoid bears, ticks and mice feces. safe travels.

Hey...I used to live in Wyoming and we went to the park all the time. A day and a half is plenty of time for a "quick" trip...
Out of Red Lodge, MT go over Bear Tooth Pass...It is beyond crazy awesome....Loop your way through the park. Then, either head back out over Bear Tooth or go way south into Grand Teton Nation Park and then back up through Idaho. Try to gas up outside the park as gas is a lot more expensive inside the park. I think the park speed limit is 45 mph, and the rangers are pretty good about enforcing it. You will see buffalo, deer, elk and keep your eyes peeled for a bear and moose. When you see a bunch of vehicles pulled over to the side of the road it's probably because there is some cool wildlife to photograph. Have fun!
I enthusiastically second the recommendation to try out Bear Tooth Pass... awesome!
