  Uh, the article states the court took the decision away from the parents, so the baby could get a blood transfusion, but she died anyway (it happens).

  "The Auckland District Health Board declined to comment, but Fairfax understands the girl did not die because of delays caused by the religious stance of her parents."

  So how can you pin the death from polycystic kidney disease on the GB?

  This is one of the problems with medical care in general. People die despite our best efforts. But that does not give us the right to not allow a patient to have a fighting chance.

  Fortunately, in this case care was given. The out come was not what was hoped, but as a member of society applaud the action of the courts and thank the care providers.
