*** w80 5/1 p. 5 Learning from an Experiment That Failed *** (Probably written by Ray Franz)

THROUGHOUT history there have been numerous attempts to influence people toward a more righteous way of life. One such experiment was made by the Pharisees, a group that receives considerable attention in the inspired Christian Greek Scriptures. Their experiment failed...

Excessive attention to minute regulations had a harmful effect. It led to the belief that becoming righteous in God’s eyes was merely a matter of carrying out prescribed religious and charitable deeds. Each good deed was believed to earn “merit” with God, whereas every bad act would incur “debt.” Supposedly, God would one day make a tally of the record of merits and debts to determine whether a person was righteous or wicked.

Awesome article Fernando! Once again their own literature is their greatest enemy. I am adding that to my top secret files.

One woman at a congregation we went to said she awoke saying the words "Abba, Abba". That's how she knew she was 'anointed'

You gotta be F^*in' kidding me! Are you sure you heard her correctly? Maybe she was watching The Flintstones the night before and woke up saying Yabba Dabba Do !

Wow, nice comments. I didnt' intend this to be a how does somebody know (in the true sense) but the funny stories on those who claim they are. I found what the bible really teaches about this and it's different from what the WT teaches. I'll either post later or make a new thread for anointing according to the bible. After waking up, I think very very few JW's may actually be, but some could be, and I think they would fall under the prophecy in Daniel about them being misled and deceived. A true anointed one would be learning from holy spirit, not from other humans. I'll post all the evidence and scriptures later or tomorrow.

One elderly man who had been "anointed" for years explained, "It's just like how you know if you're a boy or if you're a girl!"

Somehow, that didn't clear things up for me...

omfg....i truly pity some of you folks....it's all bullshit dont you get it? if i goto a club and put on all my fancy gear and then i get to the club and there are a ton of good lookin people there...a ton of good looking girls, but there is one that locks in on me and i lock in on....that is called uh circumstances? i was lookin for a girl and a girl was lookin for a guy....we happened to be in the right part of the room by coincidence so that we could talk to each other and make it happen...there is no fucking beavers or all christians are anointed its bullshit....i've read stories on this board about people that prove its bullshit by kissing ass at the KH like crazy and then they get appointed as MS, i totally believe those stories because i've seen stuff like that dozens of times with my own eyes. you don't think the elders that appointed that MS were like OMG THE SPIRIT THERE IT IS LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

look, it's nice that people want to bond and give honor to one another and all that, and then we throw god into the mix and say its from above...ya this is a nice thought...but unfortunately it is EMPIRICALLY BULLSHIT please take off your blinders thank you.

so many people on here have talked about people who are appointed that are involved with all kinds of crazy shit...and then of course the afore mentioned invidiuals that infiltrate just to prove it's bs.

its real nice, i love fantasy, i love all kinds of fantasy, sex fantasies , fantasies with fairies and unicorns, fantasies are great....this is a fantasy. please just look at the evidence, it is a fantasy, you are going to be very greatly disappointed....

one upon a time i took it hook line and sinker....i was younger and i should of KNOWN BETTER when the anointed woman said "i just pray and then have faith and do it"...and im like wow that is easy (something inside of me said wait this probably isn't right)....fortunately i got out of there in time.....in retrospect, knowing what i know now.....about life, family etc. i should of known this anointed woman who had all worldly kids and they were all into drugs and pre-marital sex etc and hated "the truth" that there was something really wrong. because now, i know, mostly kids turn out based on the parents (obviously some cases not but most) and to know how messed up that family was, should have been enough to make me realize.

and this gets into another point.....it has to do with the scriptures basically saying get your family shit in order, that is your first priority....if you dont do that, god doesnt want to have anything to do with you.....most jdubs ignore this, yet they "go forth without god"....lol, i dont believe in the scriptures i just love quoting them to prove my points even from their perspective.

Set phasers on scathing!!! Jeeze!! I respect you views Captain. My point is that IF a person claims to be a Christian, then there is only ONE HOPE. Sadly the JW faith doesn't even follow the writings it claims as it's authority. Ultimate hypocrisy in my opinion. CAPTAIN, SHE CAN'T TAKE ANY MORE! I'M GIVIN' HER ALL SHE'S GOT !!!!!

think about 2 different scenarios ....scenario one you have the person that just goes by all these voices and faith this faith that.....scenario two you have a person that actually thinks about the consequences, someone that says to themselves "i have faith but i know that i might be wrong, so i am going to make this decision but i'm prepared for the consequences".

first person makes the decision everything goes to hell, then they blame everyone else, blah blah blah make 100 exuses meanwhile their life would benefit from just a few minor LOGICAL adjustments....this person is your average jw, just in total denial, a doctrine that feeds their weakness rather than their strength.

the second person is a real mother$$#%er....they know that anything can happen at any given time, they have thought through their decisions in life, and given themselves the best chance to be successful, but they are prepared to take responsibility for their actions....KEY WORD IS RESPONSIBILITY

this second person is rarely the jw

Ya, I ment this one guy who said he has a "Itch" Behind his ear and that that is the sign that jesus is with him. This guy is insane, when door to door he talls people that are not intrested that they will die in armegeden. He also uses strange voices while he is at the door. Saying things like get out of bed its 10 o clock.

I can only ever knew of JW who believed that they had "become annointed".

However, in reality this person had developed a severe case of schizophrenia.

After being placed under psychiatric care and given a course of medication, all these "signs" (voices, visions and other supernatural phenomena) disappeared.

Much to everyones' relief, I might add!

    Bill.
