Welcome Patron, and thanks for posting the Obit. All of us who came in to contact with Eric are grieving right now.
When you have time , tell us more of your memories of JW life, and of dear Eric too.
I was in a congregation that was exactly as you describe, so different from any other for thousands of miles I guess, ours was hip, and we carried hip flasks too ! lots of social life, a healthy disrespect for C.O's and for "Society Men" etc etc
It was the feeling of being somewhat independent and different, plus all the great people in it, that kept me in it for so long.
Eric will live on forever on here,JWN, and whilst we all have breath, he will live on in our hearts.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Sounds like you had a great time in and out of "the truth". (TM) I let the social aspect keep me in...I regret it daily.
