If the FDS is only the governing body and the governing body of today is patterned on the Apostles in Jerusalem in the 1st Century then does that mean that Paul was not of the FDS?

    Good one Larry !

because however you read the N.T Paul was not hot on connections with Jerusalem, he himself only talks of going there twice I believe, although Luke asserts in his fiction "Acts" one more visit or so, it is evident that Paul got his authority from the Antioch congregation, him being considered a lesser one to Barnabus in the early days.

And Paul never consulted Jerusalem about where he should preach etc, let alone on doctrine !

I don't think any of this will matter to the G.B of the W.T , they have now elevated themselves not just above Jesus, but above God Himself, what do a few verses from the now redundant Bible matter ?

They mean and say what the G.B say they do, and don't you little J.W's forget it !

Own version of the Bible , the NWT ? never mind Bible, what we write, the Holy Governing Body, is now the only Holy Writ.

According to the new understanding the FDS didn't exist until 1919. Paul, Whitcliffe, Luther, Russell where not part of the FDS.

So what WAS Russell then: a fraud? A deluded "mentally ill" individual who thought God directed his work?

Are they throwing their founder under the bus to distance themselves from the goofy stuff he said?

If so, then how can they explain their continued existence today, an organization that grew out of an uninspired lie?

Paul was not the first apostate. Jesus was an apostate before him.

Solly asked "How can they explain....."

Beats me Sol, but they never have felt the need to explain any of it in terms that a rational human being could understand.

Why can't you be like the 7million nodding JW dummies and just suspend natural thinking and simply believe the Bull***t ?

Its a short and simple catechism: "We are who we are because we say we are ".

Footnote: "there is no more proof than that, and YOU don't need any".

OODad, I agree that Jesus more than likely in what he really taught, and even in what we see in the Gospels etc, would be seen as an Apostate by the Jewish leaders of his day. And as a real threat, his teaching eroded the need for them at all, he threatened their control of power, subservient to Rome though it was, they wanted to keep it.

Much like the people on here in relation to the GB and the WT, we threaten them in a HUGE way, because we show the people at present in thrall to them, JW's, that they are "whitewashed graves" and not needed.

Yesterday, another poster assured me that this noo lite does not mean that jesus christ is the mediator only for the 8 guys on the GB. However, I'd like to see that in print from WT in the coming months. If they make do that claim eventually, it's time to go on red alert status and start actively waking people up on the inside.
