I of course was never annointed...but grew up KNOWING that the remnant were the FDS
If i was still in, this is one thing I think that would have seriously shaken me.
I think the 'anointed' have known they are not special to the corporation for a good long time and are probably as zombified as the rest, so i wouldnt expect a mass of niblers freaking out. In fact, some probably will be quite vocal the other way...

The GB are in it for power and money. Frankly they don't give a sh1t about who lives or dies horribly. We've seen how the GB protect paedophiles but will let people die because of refusal of blood.

Aussie Oz I agree that they have no delusions about being special in the eyes of the corporation. Actually it's been quite the reverse for many years, surviving the WTBS rhetoric that mostly maligns any anointed outside Brooklyn is obviously soul destroying. Claiming to be newly anointed since the late 30s is a terrifying and humiliating journey in full public view.
S&R I don't doubt your intelligence nor your determination to succeed in your chosen field, nor have I ever. I am happy for you that you're doing so well, you deserve to, having worked very hard to get there. I never doubted that you would either. Your research of the WTBS is as impressive as many people's for sure, and I agree with the majority of it. My recent thesis on the WTBS Representation of the Holocaust and the hegemonic collective memory that undermined that representation revealed shocking facts.
The 'not so smart' point alludes to the bitter, sarcastic and judgemental way you choose to discuss the dilemma for the anointed as per your opening post. Oh if it were all so simple, so frivolous. I believe that God has chosen to hand pick individuals from many different religions for his own purpose, the WTBS does not have the monopoly on anointed ones at all. They are simply the ones in focus on this forum. I also believe he helps them out of corrupt organisations, again for his own purpose yet to be revealed. It is for him and for him only to call people nutters or liars, in my opinion. I left my judging of people as best I can, inthe Kingdom Hall, where it belongs. I wish you could. That you no longer believe he exists is understandable, but its not the case for those of us who can't deny our experiences. I respect your atheism and your deliberations. I respect your intelligence and achievements. I sincerely hope that you don't let the negative anger overshadow your fine qualities son. Remember "It's not over til the fat lady sings..."

There is no fat lady.... and if there is I would have to go to war against them because I detest his actions, demands and teachings.
It is a long and difficult journey letting go of the bible, if the genocide, incest, slavery, sexism, racism, rape war and infanticide along with the demands for worship and blood sacrifice are not sufficient... May I respectfully suggest a book called "The lost Chritianities."

Replace the word "god", "YHWH" or "adonai" with Fred and read the bible again, pretending Fred is a person. Now imagine Fred ws a human dictator of a country with the laws, commands and actions seen in the bible. Fred would be considered worse than any evil human dictator we have ever seen and I would not be seen dead on his side of the line.
How many mideonite children deserved to die because Fred wasn't happy with their way of life, despite the mideonite people having NO IDEA what Fred wanted them to do for at that time there was no written commands. Not only that as they were not Jewish, they had no possibility of being Freds friend. Bit strange.... why do you think Fred let the virgin women live?

I am allowed to be sarcastic and bitter and angry. They are normal responses to having 20 years robbed and it would be a lie to act like I was content with the religion. It is strange to NOT be angry and bitter with a cult that kills a few children by the month. The latest is a young baby girl in New Zealand who died needing blood whilst the court fought the family and HLC. I am ashamed to have had any connection to such a corporation and I will spend the rest of my life trying to make up for it by saving lives FOR REAL.
As for the mental state of someone that claims the god of the universe has come down and visited them (a miracle) and told them they are to serve as a priest and king in heaven (a concept older than christianity, jews, the bible)... I am free to believe that these people are unwell or untrue. . You can watch 9/11 footage again and again, watch 16 men that believe they are destined for heaven try to get there. There is nothing unique about thinking one is special and destined for the clouds, most of the world has been told it and think it. But then once upon a time everyone bowed to Zeus.

I like your analogy. My faith in the 'Bible' is very different these days. It doesn't equate with 'big beardy scary man in the sky' (atheist hubby's description) that I know and love. Meanwhile, you don't need to feel ashamed, it wasn't your fault, it was quite definitely mine for allowing myself to be deluded by the WTBS and we have all paid a high price for it. The anger we feel is totally justified, I simply care that such anger and frustration doesn't have the power to damage any of us any further. As this forum proves, we've all been wounded enough.

There is an older, grumpy dude in the last hall i went to that started nibbling about a decade ago. Speculation was that he did it because he kept getting passed over as an MS year after year. Everyone kinda did the silent, roll-your-eyes when the subject of him partaking came up.
I'd so love to call him up and ask him how it feels to be kicked out of the FDS class. I'm sure he's gonna be plenty pissed once the nu light reaches him.
