This is another fine spiritual gem from the january 2013 study edition.

As the great tribulation nears, we do not want to be plagued with such anxious thoughts as these:'could I have done more in God's service? Why

didn't I pioneer when I had the opportunity? What prevented me from reaching out to serve as a ministerial servant? Did I put on a real effort to put

on the new personality? Am I the sort of person Jehovah wants in his new world? Instead of just worrying about such sobering questions, we want

to use them to analyze ourselves and make sure that we are giving our best in Jehovah's service. Otherwise, we could be continuing in a way of life

that may result in even more regrets.

And, if you 'listen to and obey' the FD&S and do all they say, then on the day when you finally 'awake' and realise that all religion is deceptive and that you have wasted much of your life believing bullsh*t, then you will certainly have regrets and possibly extreme anger toward those who lied to you.

They are masters of guilt and scare tactics! From people who don't live in the real world, and are provided for by others! Sometimes it makes me so mad to think I fell for this crap it feels like my head is going to blow off from the rage!

A rather common perception of religion is that it uses fear to manipulate its people (e.g. by threats of hellfire & damnation).

This lot, though, is more devious than that, and primarily uses guilt to get its way. I can only speak for myself, but guilt seems to be a much more effective means of manipulation than threats of physical harm.

Yeah ......... #%^& the lot of them!

    Bill.

PS: How many generations of mugs have they spun this line to now - still insisting that The End is "just around the corner."

Guilt is a tactic to make one stay in the group and do as one is told. Fear is the other tactic used. If a group must manipulate and oppress people to have them stay and do what they want, the organization is not principled.

Au contraire. I have it from this upcoming week's Watchtower that one of Satan's Snares (tm) is to load people down with excessive guilt. The cure? Confess to the elders.
