"Sex, Death, and the Meaning of Life" Ep1 by Richard Dawkins:
I've just finished watching it. Some really interesting stats about morality in 'this time of the end'. If you're a lurker, you HAVE to watch this. It will blow all that WT bullshyte about the last days out of the water.
The particular theme is 'sin'. He talks about masturbation, and how it's practised more within religious groups (practise makes perfect). Also, some crazy stuff about muslim women getting hymen-replacement surgery so they don't shame their family when they get married. As I say, the stats about morality are the most eye-opening. For instance, rape is down by 80% in the past 50 years!
It's a pity this hasn't had the coverage it ought to have had. It seems to have gone under the radar.
So I'm in the process of watching this. Thanks for posting this btw, olns.
Ya know, I learn so much from this site. I never knew there was a procedure to reconstruct the hymen. OMFG! This doctor performs about 4 a week and the demand is growing. I wonder how much it costs? Yeesh.
Heaven,
I'm guessing it's a lot of clams
LOL!
Interesting stuff. No difference between religious and nonreligious sexual activity, except for guilt felt by the religious. Oh, and more porn use in the older religious. That's easy to understand. The religous never really got their sexual energies out of their systems, so they keep feeling the urge for release when they are older.
Dawkins has a strong disgust response, which the guy says is related to gravitating towards conservative religion. Dawkins responds that the difference is that he doesn't try to impose his bias on others. I disagree w him. I think his activism is exactly about influencing others towards his own bias.

There is a difference between influencing and imposing.
Dawkins is biased as are we all.
When you engage in debate about science and religion you become biased towards the side your on. The trick is to show yourself less biased than your opponent, that is if winning a debate is important to you if not you will proportionally be less biased.
