    Yup, loadabollox,

mind you Jehovah did have a bride originally, well YHWH did before the Israelites got the sole franchise on him, I think he was a lesser god to his wifes godess, but that may be faulty memory, YHWH had his bit of fluff though, back in the good old days.

Nice catch, James Woods. Sounds fishy to me. But Elephant believed it at first, even saying that it shows how mighty Jehovah's holy spirit is. You see what you want, Elephant.

Jerusalem above is Jehovah's wife, although as James Woods correctly states, this is never described as a Bride.

    *** rs p.432 par.3 Women ***

The dignity of woman’s position in God’s arrangement is further shown by the fact that Jehovah refers to his own organization of loyal spirit creatures as a woman, his wife, the mother of his sons. (Rev. 12:1; Gal. 4:26)

It always makes me wonder (when one of these shows up) - what on earth could make a person do this (or even WANT to do this)?

I guess there are some types I will never understand.

Yeah i don't get the whole Jehovah's bride either. Never heard of that concept.

In any case, just wanted to say that if i was on the way out, and i had a chance to have a part in a convention, i would go out in a blaze of glory.

I would stick to the general outline, but i would completely give my version of each point. I'm actually wondering if at some point, someone would come and take me off the stage, but i'm guessing they would probably not interrupt. Then after the part, i would quetly walk off stage and head to my car and never come back.

What a story i would have to tell my grand kids. Also that would bring instant fame in the JW world. "The brother who had the balls to say it like it is at the podium"..yes yes..

I loved how "littletoe" did it. How awesome would that be to do it at an assembly or convention?

    O K, I can buy this

I have lots of family and friends who are in, and I can be of no use to them if I'm out.

but being "in" need not include being so well thought of that one is assigned an Assembly Item. For a while I had to keep functioning while I faded . I felt terrible. Having to stand on the platform as if I were something I was not, just made me disgusted with myself. Nobody likes a hypocrite.

One can maintain a presence and keep communication open without being really active. I guess you have more audacity than me.

To stand on the platform doesn't have to mean you blindly teach the current thoughts.

I have had individual publishers phone me at home asking for more info on the items I have given, and I don't think that would happen if I was sat in my seat at every meeting.

I'm not saying it's easy, it is tough, but at the moment it seems to be the best way I can find for 'legitimately' (in the minds of the cong) teaching the cong how to think about what they are hearing and reading.

    Is it perfect? Certainly not.

You want to stone me as a hypocrite? Here, let me pass you the first rock.

I repeat - he claims to have gotten out 47 people in 6 months and the JWs never suspected a thing. They are so proud of him that they gave him a key part on a "special assembly day".

Even though he thinks that the Governing Body is "the bride of Jehovah".

    It DOES NOT WASH.

@ Christ Alone - thanks for posting that. That elder is obviously a man of great integrity. I had never heard of someone having the balls to say that from the podium, but i would have to loved to have been there and see the faces of the people in the audience.
